FABRICLIVE prepares to host a very special anniversary from one of the scene’s original heads as MC Skibadee celebrates 25 years in the game. Having visited us countless times throughout his career, we’re honoured to invite Skiba to mark his special milestone by taking over programming for the night. For his anniversary, he’s called on his peers and close friends to represent the history of drum & bass in its most energetic form. Joining the top of the bill are two very special guests – we won’t be announcing these, but you can trust us that something big is lined. Also stepping up on the decks are a full crew of heavyweights from established legends to fresh talents. Grooverider, Bryan G, Jumpin Jack Frost, Kenny Ken, Ratpack, DJ Phantasy and Nicky Blackmarket all touch down to represent the enduring heritage of jungle and drum & bass. They’re joined by a host of names that embody the genre’s feature, including Mollie Collins, K Motionz, Nu Elementz and Sub Zero. Also billed are Ash A Tak, Blackley, Brockie, Critical Impact, Funky Flirt, Missrepresent, Probe, Profile, Ripraw, Ruffstuff, Tesen and Wildchild, plus A Plus, Andy Bailey, Blacklist, Intraspekt, Kronikz, Ramses, Renegade, Smurph and Terry-M.
Skibadee takes charge of mic duties for the night, and in keeping with the significance of his anniversary, he also invites some of the most influential MCs in drum & bass to join him. Carasel, Ragga Twins, Featless, Eksman, Azza & Grima, and Harry Shotta all prepare to drop their deft lyricism on the night. Plus, Det, Evenson Allen, Fatman D, Foxy, Funsta, Bellyman, CD, Miss Melody, Rhymstar, Shabba D, Shockin, Chucky, DVSMC, Enemie, Funktion, Fusion, JC and Terrorist all join the rave.
To round things off, the night will see performances of two exclusive live PAs: Doktor performs ‘Rudeboy’ and ‘I Am’, while Nolay recites ‘Where It Began’ alongside Skibadee. Artists will be taking hold of all three rooms of our space for what should be a full-on tribute to one of the drum & bass scene’s most important names ever.
