Far Away returns after a few months' hiatus with a lineup that underlines the crew's groovy but creative style: Dutch digger Young Marco and breakbeat techno queen D. Tiffany.
We're back in action for the winter season, starting off with two parties in December. Joining us on the 7th, we're pleased to welcome two friends of ours from Amsterdam and Vancouver.
Young Marco has played for us countless times (we've actually lost count) and there's a reason why. His genre-defying eclecticism puts him in a field of his own. It wasn't long ago that Marco was one of Amsterdam's best kept secrets - these days he's spreading his oddball tastes and extensive knowledge across the world. From solo productions on labels like ESP Institute and Dekmantel, to releasing as Gaussian Curve (alongside Gigi Masin & Jonny Nash) for Music From Memory, it's quite clear that Marco feeds off a wide range of influences. These influences, however, have contributed to something entirely new with the launch of his label, Safe Trip. Whatever comes next is always a surprise - and that's exactly what we're in for when Marco returns.
D. Tiffany comes from Vancouver and is one of the most distinct artists to emerge from the pacific northwest. With many years under her belt as a key figure in the local Vancouver scene, her hard work and persistent musical output has taken her to higher heights on a global scale - the last couple of years have seen her on the road more than ever before. D. Tiffany's records on Pacific Rhythm, Normals Welcome, and Heart To Heart are all instant favorites, and everything coming out on her recently launched imprint, Planet Euphorique, sounds nothing short of amazing. We're thrilled to have her behind the decks for her next LA visit.
Opening the night and warming the floor, Far Away residents Cooper Saver & Jen Ferrer will kick things off as usual with a b2b. Join us for what is sure to be a musical journey covering all the bases with this readily equipped crew.
