15 years of devotion, 15 years of constant evolution: Mule Musiq is celebrating its triangular anniversary of 15 years in music. A time in which the label, that was once founded in Tokyo by Toshiya Kawasaki in 2004 to release the music of his old pal Kuniyuki Takashi, flourished in many different ways. Besides the masterful crafted house, ambient, techno and experimental music of Kuniyuki, it released the music of a bunch of hard to pigeonhole musicians from all around the globe. Tokyo’s legendary duo Force Of Nature dropped hot leftfield electronics. Japan based, US-American activist, producer and DJ Terre Theamlitz aka DJ Sprinkles published dateless ambient and house compositions. German Dial records co-owner, DJ and producer Lawrence released three intimate longplayers. Just like house music one-of-a-kind Fred P, who put out a deep grooving trilogy under his FP-Oner moniker, inbetween avant-jazz meets classic spheres by Romanian artist Petre Inspirescu as well as fresh jacking house records by producers like Oscar Offermann or Lake People. Countless 12inches populate the Mule catalogue, produced by a notorious squad of edgy artists like Auntie Flo, Glenn Astro. Sebastian Mullaert, Frankey & Sandrino, Barnt, Mr Raoul K, Wareika, Christopher Rau to name but a few.
To celebrate all that jazz from the past 15 years with nothing but futuristic music, Mule Musiq gets ready for a global tour adventure, featuring founder and head-honcho Toshiya Kawasaki bringing some of his dearest artists. For this stop at Flash, he is joined by Kuniyuki and Lawrence. The three adventurers will play from open to close.
In the Green Room, Tres Manos and Alfa Romero present This And That label showcase, Davide Squillace's latest project.

Kuniyuki Takahashi is a sound designer and producer who is based and works in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. In 1994, he started his solo musical career. In 1997, as FRR HIVE, he released a mini album which was released on CD and 12INCH from the BASSMENTAL label. And in 1998, he had been participated in the RAINBOW 2000 outdoor festival in Japan, as a member of HOSONO HARUOMI(YMO) group.
In 2000, as Kuni, he released a track which was included on Dego of 4 Hero's, 2000 BLACK label called "THE GOOD GOOD" compilation. In 2001, as KOSS, he has released his full-length album out of soundofspeed and as Kuni, he released a12inch EP from Lifeline Records.
Kuni also remixed ANANDA PROJECT's track, "Cascades of Colour", which was included in the Ananda Project Remix Album titled, Re-Release out of King Street Sounds. In 2002, as Kuniyuki, he just released a 12inch EP called "Precious Hall", out of Natural Resource, a division of Joe Claussell's Spiritual Life Music label. As KOSS, he released his 1st LIVE album CD through soundofspeed.
He is no doubt one of Japan's best kept secrets. International DJ's such as Joe Claussell, Dego, DJ Cosmo, Jimpster to name but a few, have been falling over themselves when they heard his produced tracks. Now, some of them have been releasing his works through their own labels. He has also been working closely with the soundofspeed crew over the past few years and releasing hisworks on their own label and performing live with them in their famed parties which are held regularly in Tokyo and sometimes in parties such as the Big Chill and in excursions to Austria and Europe. Check out the ever-consistent and surprisingly prolific producer out of Sapporo, Kuniyuki Takahashi!
He also releases more techno-oriented under the name Sten. Lawrence also has two other lesser known projects, Lloyd (abstract hip hop) and an ambient guitar project called Bordeaux.
As Lawrence, Kersten has released three deep and melacholic longplayers. First turned onto techno by the original wave of acid house, by 1997 Kersten began producing his own music.
"The different projects stand somehow close to another," he says. "Sten is the more minimal and straight part of me, strictly influenced by the part of my life on the dancefloor.”
However, Lawrence is the project which has been catching the most attention. The first eponymous 'Lawrence' album (Ladomat, 2002) was a mixture of house, minimal techno and experimental pieces, while the second one, 'The Absence of Blight' (Dial, 2003) had a straighter touch. Latest album is the 'The Night Will Last Forever' (Novamute, 2005).
Lawrence also DJs, with a residency at The Golden Pudel or Click in Hamburg. He has also remixed the likes of Martin Gore, Goldfrapp, Turner and Superpitcher.
Tres Manos (aka Your Only Friend) has been diggin' deep in the crates for the last
25+ years. In that time, he has been involved in almost every aspect of the dance
music and nightclub industry. With various residencies and a fan base that doesn't
stop growing, he is a favorite in every city he plays. His exquisite selection of music
has continually put him the DJ booths around the globe alongside many of the

been playing a leading role in city's Underground House and Techno scene ever
since. Currently, he is one of the resident DJs for Davide Squillace's "This and That
party" in Barcelona & "Zoo Project" in Ibiza. As a producer, he has a sound that is
very personal and in the moment. He does many of his own vocals and has
produced for various releases for esteemed labels such as This and That, Om
records, Aesoteric, Cyclo, Detour, Loudeast, SoundBlack, and his very own, Your
Only Friend Recordings which has become home to artists such as Rick Wade and
Alfa Romero is the multi faceted duo comprised of Prudo and Lorenzo Bartoletti. Both highly acclaimed musicians in their own right, the pair combine their many years of experience in electronic music for their all-encompassing Alfa Romero project. Working together as producers, DJs and label owners, the duo explore a shared musical vision in a partnership that aims to broaden the horizons of electronic music.
As producers, Alfa Romero share a passion for club friendly music. Although their tracks keep the focus on the dancefloor itself, they come with rich colours, deep emotions and strong rhythms. Their deft ability at weaving subtle melodies into the mix also enables the duo to create moments of beauty that are rarely seen on dancefloors elsewhere. A unique team in so many ways, they are unmistakably Alfa Romero.
The Alfa Romero name was born in 2006 when Marzio Aricò, well known for his productions on the likes of Moodmusic, Dirt Crew Recordings, Music For Freaks and This and That teamed up with Eclat. Emerging talent Lorenzo Bartoletti, who had previously turned heads with roductions on Paco Osuna’s Mindshake Records replaced Eclat in 2011 to form that dynamic duo that is Alfa Romero, as we know it today.
Along their way, Alfa Romero have produced and remixed for labels such as Minisketch, Lo-Fi Stereo, Dirt Crew Recordings, Players Paradise, Ministry of Sound, Fabric, Freak n' Chic, Titbit, Superfreq, Elettrowave and Supernature. Their tunes have been consistently played, selected and supported by a wealth of the worlds most in demand, international DJ’s.
However it is with their own, self-titled label that Alfa Romero are leaving the biggest legacy and laying the foundations for the future. Since they launched in early 2013, the label has helped nurture standout emerging talent, helping to launch the careers of producers such as Betoko, Cardace & Perazzini and Anthony Megaro in addition to releasing tracks from established artists such as Davide Squillace and Reboot. Their first cycle of six releases was all about the road trip, driving along and exploring the electronic music landscape before the next cycle moved onto the eagerly anticipate Alfa Romero circus. The show looks set to go in style once again.
