One Day in the Park
Melting Pot DJs Andrew and Simon all day long!
Queen's Park Disco Sessions at Queen's Park Band Stand return!
After our first sell out weekend last year, we are more than delighted to be invited back to bring world class disco to Queen's Park
Saturday 4th May 4pm – 10pm
One Night at the Disco are bringing the good people of Glasgow the opportunity to visit an era of pure decadence, excess, glamour and music that became the blue print for modern day dance music. What's more, we are playing this out in the leafy confines of Queen's Park Bandstand!
Founded mainly in New York City, a phenomenon happened that changed music and nightclubs forever - from the underground bath houses hosted by Frankie Knuckles and the apartments parties held by David Mancuso at The Loft and Nicky Siano's Gallery parties, to the opulence of Studio 54 with its regular celeb guests to the Paradise Garage hosted by Larry Levan. They were the venues that were breaking the boundaries - DJs were now mixing records, gay and straight, rich and poor audiences were now mixing together and producers such as Walter Gibbons, Giorgio Moroder and Tom Moulton were making records now specifically for the dance floor.
Artists like Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor, Chic, Sylvester and Donna Summer were taking over the world - it was a revolution.
The spirit of that eras will descend on Queen's Park with its music, performers, glitter bomb face decorators plus much more.
The after party for One day in the Park is here - One Night at the Disco. Whether you've been partying with us at Queen's Park Bandstand before, or you're coming along for the evening only, we have a fantastic party to invite you too.
We will be taking over the opulent little hidden gem of a venue at 67 Bridge Street (just over the Jamaica Street Bridge) called the Savings Bank. The capacity is only 200, so we'd advise to buy in advance, but if there is space left, we'll be moving the remainder of tickets to the door on the night. This venue has never been used as a club space before, we we are stoked about the disco takeover.
Event runs from 10pm - 1am
