Avalon Emerson brings her 9000 Dreams series to San Francisco to showcase friends she's made along the way, who happen to be pretty talented: this is a star-studded lineup not to be missed.

Avalon Emerson returns to San Francisco in May with a heavy-hitting posse for the biggest-yet edition of 9000 Dreams, the series of nights she's curating at clubs around the world in 2019. The Public Works homecoming manifests the vision behind all of 9000 Dreams: to unite friends she's made throughout her career to join forces for special covens. This one's extra special because San Francisco is where it all began for Emerson, and the lineup features friends from her days involved in the local warehouse party circuit as well as those she met after moving to Berlin.
Longtime Smart Bar Chicago resident Eris Drew represents the old-school American rave scene minus nostalgia. She has a dedicated approach to the craft of DJing and a spiritual angle to what she does on the decks. She weaves fluently between all manner of house and breakbeats—whatever facilitates communion with the Motherbeat, her coinage for the healing power of music and the name for her own regular party series.
Massimiliano Pagliara has played a similar role of stalwart house aficionado across the pond. Born in Southern Italy, he got into the club scene when he moved to Milan in 1997 and then Berlin in the early 2000s. It makes sense then that his DJ sets and productions are rooted in classic house and disco sounds, but his penchant for elastic basslines and day-go arps imbues his style with an abiding newness. He has close ties to some of Germany's most famous clubs: he's a Panorama Bar resident with three LPs released by Frankfurt stronghold Robert Johnson. In fact, the first time Avalon heard one of her own tracks at Panorama Bar, it was because Massi played it.
Jackie House, on the other hand, is a friend from Avalon's San Francisco era. It's safe to say that the Bay Area's electronic underground would not be what it is today without Jackie House. As the founder of the DJ collective and regular party Honey Soundsystem, Jackie played no small role in keeping queer club culture alive in the city. Honey has become a veritable tour de force on a global scale with a record label and its hotly followed Hnypot podcast series, which has become a landmark mix for up-and-coming talents. He's also become known as a selector in his own right and now tours around the world.
Mozhgan is a member of the extended Honey Soundsystem universe in that she's a local artist they have championed for years with their podcast series and breakthrough live appearances. By the time she played Honey Soundsystem in 2015, she already had four years of promoting her own night under her belt. We Are Monsters carved out a reliable place for club music's dark side that she also showcases in her own sets, which cut a line through techno and into older sounds from the cold wave, industrial and post-punk tradition.
Cooper Saver is a bona fide influencer in the Southern Californian DJ scene. He helped to revive LA's warehouse scene with his popular party Far Away, where he has hosted many of the best names in the global underground. The operation also involves a mix series and a radio show on the local broadcasting institution Dublab. His remix and original productions have started to crop up on labels like DFA and Permanent Vacation, which present his good-vibes take on various flavours of house.
