Made in Paris
Its our final Fold Theory Presents of 2019 and of course we brought along our media partner Techno Live Sets. And this time we looked to bring you a rising star like no other.. A home grown talent from the US, let me introduce you to Michelle Sparks..
Michelle Sparks | Octopus Recordings
Climbing gracefully from the shadows of the Arizona deserts, Michelle Sparks began DJing in 2006, developing a unique sound which pushes the boundaries of forward thinking techno by intertwining spaced out minimal elements and grooves.
Michelle's lifelong love for music naturally led her into the studio to start producing in 2012. Since then she has released a record called ‘Lobe’ on Suicide Robot, and ‘Tootsie Pops’ on Raise Recordings, which reached #4 in Beatports Minimal Chart in 2014. Since teaming up with super label Octopus Recordings Michelle Sparks has hit the ground running with such top 10 releases like Force Field & Harajuku in 2018. In addition to her time in the studio, you can also find Michelle hosting and playing at an event called “Circuit". In Phoenix and around the southwestern US, Circuit has become well known for cultivating an event with modern and fresh techno talent from around the world. Michelle's unique sound and dedication has landed her playing events alongside an extensive list of well known underground electronic artists at some of Arizona's largest clubs and music festivals.
Made in Paris (Stil Vor Talent) has just joined our lineup and we cannot be happier to host her alongside Michelle!
With a mind for the melodic drive of techno and deep moods, Made in Paris remains in a league of her own, noted by copious media and industry tastemakers as one of country’s top underground DJ’s, producers and label curators. Dropping hints from her recent USA tour through to Australia’s Piknic Electronik, Beyond The Valley and mid-year at Splendour In The Grass, the Sydney artist and record label curator depicts the blood of her work across the globe in her deep and dark production journey. The Made in Paris project has entrapped enthusiasts within the industry from Maceo Plex and Animal Trainer to Joseph Capriati’s techno allure, with a globally acclaimed Mixmag, BBC Radio 1 and her most recent Triple J Mix Up Residency, making her a devilish staple in consoles across
warehouses and concrete jungles of the underground.
