We’re throwing a FREE Sunday alldayer in the name of summer, fun, exquisite selector music, good food and real connections. Midday to 11pm.
7 eclectic selectors will cover 11 hours of music (!), culminating with a set from Mikey Sibson, hot off tour. Other highlights include SDXN, resident at Brighton institutions The Arch and Disco In The Basement, and Brilliant Corners resident Dragos (see full line-up and bios below).
Chefs in residence Eastern Bloc will do a shawarma special on this day only, meat and vegan options, on top of their regular menu. If you don’t know them by now (what?), they cook “Peckham-inspired Eastern European street food”, and have had spicy residencies all over SE London over the last few years.
Leeds-born, London-based DJ, producer and record collector Mikey Sibson combines jazz and funk sensibilities with a flair for blissed-out global frequencies. He’s played with legends like Derrick Carter, Don Carlos and Daniele Baldelli, runs his own club night called Elevator East and as curator of the blog 45turns, he’s dedicated to showcasing “dubbed-out, whooshy what-was-that-in-the-corner-of-your-eyes balearic”. Appearances on Le Mellotron, Red Light Radio, Netil Radio, Operator and Radio Raheem showed his energy and eclecticism, and he’s done the rounds, DJing in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Croatia, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam and all over Italy. He aims to “always challenge the norm, showcasing new sounds and creating unique musical moments” wherever he goes, and we’re very excited to have him headline this event.
Sam Dickson plays “forward thinking electronics for open-minded dance floors”. A long standing resident at The Arch and Disco In The Basement in Brighton, he recently opened for Eclair Fifi and Big Miz at a Boiler Room event. When he came to a couple of the 7-11 Musical Discoveries events I caught a glimpse of his insanely well organised music collection and shivered. He’s also taken said collection to a few of the best independent radio stations around, like Threads and Platform B and alongside his DJing work he’s found time to hone in on his craft as a producer (check out his Sometimes release for example) and to co-found independent label Quietly Making Noise. Looking forward to a lush set from a sharp mind.
Slowly ascending the no shortcuts ladder to becoming a world class, DJ's favourite DJ, he's already played everywhere, from radio shows on NTS, Red Light Radio, Balamii and Le Mellotron (alongside regular Netil Radio fixture Jas), to London audiophile fetish locations like Brilliant Corners, Earth Hackney and Spiritland, and to sweaty affairs like the Jaguar Shoes basement or The Glove That Fits. From Tel Aviv to Amsterdam, Brighton to Bucharest, he's been spreading his love of the word "emotional", and for good reason: this man feels things. A truly eclectic selector through and through.
After a mind bending set at our most recent 7-11 Musical Discoveries event, Amerza is back with his records and moods. These operate in the area of techno plus nearby genres like ebm and industrial but also they reach into the unexpected, like wicked world music flavours and emotional spoken word interludes. He doesn’t have an “online presence” yet, which makes him a special gem to see play. What he does have is the wax, the skill and dare I say it, a heavy EP in the works. One to watch.
Spanish-born DJ and radio host Claudia Ortiz, like the most mature selectors out there, likes “a bit of everything”. She’s currently a regular at Netil Radio and also has a monthly residency in North London playing house, funk and soul. Throughout her life she wore different hats, as label manager (releasing the debut album of Loquat among others), party promoter (including some of Spain’s most influential music festivals like Acuarela) and music journalist (she cofounded cutting edge music publication Playgroundmag) and we’re happy to have her bring her life energy to warm up this event.

Simply a true music lover before anything else, Vladimir Potop will be easing us into the long day ahead with some records close to his heart. Check out his mix series Inner Spaces for Romanian platform Minus Infinit at the link below to get a glimpse into his wide reaching sensibilities. With him, it’s not about specific genres, mixing skills or digging for the sake of revealing obscurities, but rather a real person putting nuances of feelings together into a little story.
Your humble host. I’ll be playing favourites from a lot of time spent listening to music while designing things.
