🌕 Dj Haram
This Saturday DJ Haram touches down in London amidst her European tour to perform at Colab House on Southwark Street, with special guest Orion Sun. This comes fresh off the back off her recent EP release Grace, out now on Hyperdub.
Haram is a DJ who distinctively ties her New Jersey musical history with more recent involvement in the Philadelphia DIY noise scene, whilst paying homage to her Middle Eastern roots. A close affiliate of New York's Discwoman collective, she is also one half of 700 Bliss with Moor Mother.
DJ Haram joined by Jersey-born, Philly-based singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Tiffany Majette, PKA Orion Sun for a one off collaborative performance.
Lafawndah’s journey to her current incarnation as a devotional pop polymath has wound as unpredictably as her compositional style; her traversing of musical and artistic milieus has been defined by a freedom of tone, surrealist sense of space and assured manipulation of formal and psychological tension.
We're excited for her to share a rare DJ set on Saturday - those who have seen her DJ before know, this will be special.
To celebrate the release of a brand new track "Birthmarks" with Snowy and produced by long-time associate Secundus, the inimitable M.I.C aka Master of Inane Conversation will be doing a short live set. Absolute lyricist and attention-enthralling, his life-giving performances span an emotional range of energies bringing you spinning into orbit. You'll be 100% glad you saw this.
🌕 Shannen SP
Shannen SP is the co-programmer behind London's monthly experimental club night Ø that champions underground musicians and DJs, with an equal focus on emerging installation artists, bringing them together in rooms 1 and 2 at Corsica Studios. As a DJ, her sets explore cultural mutation through club sounds with an afro-diasporic lens, with selections ranging from early gqom, Kuduro, dancehall and more with a focus on layering afro-polyrhythms with political narratives for a fierce and entrancing experience.
🌕 Jlte (Jentay Geta)(Public Order
Jlte's sets tilt between genres, reclaiming hysteria via lifting throwbacks, soothing discords & grounding syncopations. Lots of drums & sloping strings from across the board. Accidentally always doing concept work. Resident for Public Order on NTS. Member of QTIPOC Black Obsidian Sound System collective.
