As part of fabric's 20th birthday celebrations, come down to hear all three members of Hessle Audio alongside a live set from Shelley Parker, plus an as-yet-unannounced special guest.
Shelley Parker (live)
Hessle Audio return to FABRICLIVE. The UK trio have always held a special place in our hearts, and as long-running residents at our Friday night showcases, they’re a fitting addition to our XX celebrations. Emerging during the explosion of the UK’s dubstep movement, Ben UFO, Pangaea and Pearson Sound set up Hessle Audio as an outlet to champion an embracing blend of UK garage, dubstep, 2-step, techno and house. Through their excellent label curation and joint DJ appearances, they became the flagbearers for a burgeoning experimentalist scene that fused dubstep and 4/4, something their regular parties with us captured in electrifying form. These days, each of the trio has carved his own singular path as a DJ, but when they link up behind the decks, their sound worlds converge. They’ve also been known for handpicking a killer cast of guests to join them at their showcases, and their next date with us follows in the same vein. Joining them is rRoxymore, the Berlin producer behind a string of excellent techno cuts for labels like Don’t Be Afraid, Timedance and Ostgut Ton. Shelley Parker finally performs live, bringing the singular rhythmic sound she’s known for presenting via the Hessle camp, as well as labels like Houndstooth, Opal Tapes, and her own, Structure.
