Bite Back Presents: `0115 Lock-In` with Wigflex & Adam Curtain
We are kicking off the academic year with a showcase of the hottest talent Nottingham has to offer.
Lukas Wigflex [Wigflex]
Lukas is a figurehead in the underground electronic scene, with his own influential label and event programme running under `Wigflex` approaching its 13th birthday this year. You can always find him on any Love international, Gottwood or Houghton roster, while 2019 saw the inaugural Wigflex City festival allow him to start making some serious moves.
Adam Curtain [Troublemaker]
London based and Nottingham bred, Adam Curtain has been pushing out a string of immense releases on his experimental Trouble Maker label over the past two years. The label often cited “a hidden gem in the hustle and bustle of the city” has been throwing out some home-grown talent such as Bobby (Pleasure), Extra-Terrestrial, Hatterman & himself. Whilst boasting remixes from big dogs Carl Finlow, Craig Richards, Oli Silva and Desert Sound Colony.
Adam is beginning to receive the recognition he deserves, we feel very fortunate to have him warm up the proceeding for Lukas on the night
Expect a mind-warping blend of weird shit you’ve probably never heard: encapsulating the gnarliest’ of wafters, the sloppiest’ of swampers and dirty blends of head-turners that hover round the 130bpm bracket, moving through the heavy templates of electro, 2-step and garage.
Upstairs we have our good friend Lovatt [Give It Up/ Bombard Groove] in the bar, he will be playing a mixture of joyful goodness to keep you sippin’ and conversations flowing. Trust me the contrast will make you feel like you’ve just bought a ticket for 2 nights in 1!
