Perera Elsewhere is Berlin based, UK born experimental electronic music producer Sasha Perera. Coined by some as ‘Doom-Folk’, her one-of-a-kind music has been used in Paolo Sorrentino’s feature film Loro, Ava Du Vernay’s Queen Sugar show and HBO’s Looking. She‘s been supported in the media by the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, BBC R1/6Music/1Xtra, Resident Advisor, Crack, Entertainment Weekly, The Wire,Vogue and many more while KEXP, FACT and Fader have all commissioned exclusive mixes from her. On her Los Angeles-based label Friends of Friends Music, Perera has released two albums and one EP. Her new EP is called Thrill and will be released on September 6th, and the first single Yeah Yeah came out on June 26th this year.
Dope Saint Jude - Drag King, producer, rapper - hard to put Dope Saint Jude in a genre. Catherine Saint Jude Pretorius was born in Cape Town South Africa. She studied Politics at the University of Cape Town. In 2011 she started South Africa's first documented drag king troupe, performing as Saint Dude. In 2013, having learnt about performance through drag, she left the group to learn sound production and begin a career as Dope Saint Jude. She now lives in London, England.
Mafalda - Originally from Portugal, Mafalda brings the sun to London, where she is now based, through her sets of tropical jazz, soul, RnB and everything in between. She celebrates the values she stands for through the music she plays, carrying a message of peace, love, unity and hope.
Having moved to London only five years ago, Mafalda has co-founded the reissue label Melodies International with Floating Points which is responsible for reissuing rare groove gems such as Tomorrow’s People’s Open Soul and Trio Ternura’s A Gira to name a few. She has played at key festivals such as Dekmantel, Field Day, Worldwide Festival, Dimensions, Nuits Sonores and is about to play at Primavera Sound and have her first Australian tour this year. Other highlights include Boiler Room, Dingwalls, Cosmic Slop and the You’re A Melody parties.
To celebrate five years since shesaid.so launched in London at the end of 2014, the community has introduced MEETSSS, the inaugural female-first, music-forward event with the aim to explore the future of the music industry through a female lens.
MEETSSS brings together shesaid.so members and non-members from all over the world in Portimão, Portugal to bring their online connection to life and to nurture new friendships in the music industry. The event is aimed at music executives from all industry sectors, artists and other professionals interested in forging connections with music stakeholders. Open to all genders.
Taking place October 3-6, confirmed partners include YouTube Music, British Council, Kobalt, Live Nation, The Orchard, Pioneer DJ to name a few.
