“Expect timeless classics and discoveries in funk, soul and beyond”… For 17 years, it has been Strictly Niceness’s mojo. Since 2002, we’ve been providing Brussels with that unique vibe, displaying the essence of dance music and providing a particular atmosphere in a splendid NYC loft-style location. Since one shouldn’t change a winning team, we will keep on keeping on and stick to our plan. Inviting the best Dj’s. Playing the best songs. From the classics to the unknown. Inna Strictly Niceness style… For we consider that reggae, latin music, afrobeat, hip hop, house, these styles we enjoy so much, are deeply rooted in soul, funk and jazz. Therefore, we want to expose them to your ears and get you to shake a leg or two.

About Strictly Niceness

In 2002, Brussels was a desert when it came to music that grooves. Since the legendary Fool Moon venue closed its doors, the unstoppable thirst for soulful music was growing and growing amongst the fans and dancers. Brussels being mostly electro and mainstream at the time, 2 Dj's, funk fans and above all, friends, decided to create a night dedicated to black music from all genres, eras and shapes . Dj Eleven & Kwak started Strictly Niceness as a birthday party at the now deceased Kafé Kan’H with Bernard Dobbeleer as special guest. We enjoyed what we produced and got started with a bi-monthly party at Athanor Studios with the three as resident Dj’s.

The three made the crossover between the varieties of black music with the will to make those butts and hips shake until the break of dawn. Other Dj’s played deepfunk, soul and hammond grooves, reggae and rocksteady, disco or afrobeat but everyone doing it in its own zone, its own corner.

At Strictly Niceness, we play a large range of black soulful music crossing over funk, deep funk, soul, disco and boogie, some afro and latin beauties, some house music, some hip hop, some jazz ... Many parties have gone by, many guest dj's came and rocked the spot.

Strictly Niceness will offer two levels of music on several months : The Loft is the main dance area, The Attic has a more vintage approach with its “vinyl only” sets, its smaller size and its couches.
