Magda

Dubbed as the first lady of minimal, the Polish-born, Detroit-raised Magda cut her teeth as a resident for Richie Hawtin's M_NUS party. Moving to Berlin, her first gig was playing b2b with Ricardo Villalobos and she quickly became a known name in the techno scene

In the years since she left Minus, Magda has shaken off "the mistress of minimal" tag. Not that it ever really suited her in the first place. Though she shared countless stages with the likes of Richie Hawtin throughout the '00s, she always delivered something different and surprising referencing her Detroit influences of early electro, acid house, and leftfield house.

Magda's sets are always stuffed with so many tunes that there's no real chance to ever get bored—no matter how rudimentary a track is, it's barely a minute before she blends into another.

20 years on and she continues to pioneer her unique sound, which incorporates techno, breaks and electro and recently developing a live show under the alias Blotter Trax. After some stand-out sets this year, a dozen boiler room shows and compilations for Balance and Fabric; we cannot wait to see host her as many will agree she’s playing the best music of her career now.

Maxi Storrs

There are many musical artists that list hip-hop, soul, disco, house, techno, breakbeat, electro and new wave as influences, but very few would try to fit all them all into one set. Maxi Storrs is one of the few who takes on the challenge of doing just that. He's a risk taker and a music lover and when he's in his delivery is truly unique unto his own.

Originally born on Spetses Island, Greece, he grew up in Vermont, where he was classically trained in music, having played both piano and clarinet from a young age.
At a first chance, Maxi moved to California and spent his 20's deep in San Francisco's underground scene where his house and techno roots come from. From the endless warehouse parties in California through making his first international party called Dusty Eardrums and establishing residency in Thailand to taking his events permanently in Istanbul, it’s safe to say Maxi’s sound has been enriched by multiple sub-underground cultures around the world. He is also a founding member and resident of Suma Beach in Istanbul and also held a monthly residency at the now-defunct Wake Up Call Club in Istanbul, at Katerholzig and now Katerblau, Suma Han, and is a frequent guest of CDV, Hoppetosse and more.

While Maxi has kept his releases very much underground and off the radar, his music has been played all over the world - from venues such as CDV, Hoppetosee, the Panther Room in NY and Robert Johnson in Offenbach- to large festivals such as Sonar, Timewarp and Sunwaves and many others with support from Ricardo Villalobos, Magda, Rhadoo, Raresh, Praslea, Digby, Felipe Valenzuela, O. Bee etc.

As of this writing. Maxi and Magda are in the process of kicking of a new concept party called Earworm, which will bring obscure disco and house to raw electro and techno in Berlin on Sundays.
