■ Brian Cid
Brian Cid is a Brooklyn-based DJ & producer with a level of musical talent that has taken the underground electronic music scene by storm. His original productions have found homes on a number of the most credible and tastemaking record labels, with a style that touches melodic techno, deep house, progressive house and more, with no boundaries whatsoever. This catalogue of innovative, genre-defying tracks has given Brian the opportunity to grace the decks at some of the best clubs, parties, & events across the globe, and has led to a DJ Mag nomination for 2017 Best Breakthrough DJ in their Best of North America awards.
After starting to play the drums as a kid growing up, Brian began to create his own productions as early as 14 years old. Shortly after, he began his first foray into the music industry with a successful decade-long career in the Hip Hop and Pop scene as an audio engineer, where he worked with the world’s biggest stars. After fine-tuning his production techniques and developing his own unique style & sound, the Brooklyn ambassador decided to tap into his love of club culture and enter the world of house music - a genre that vibrates with him in such a way that he can freely express himself. Brian’s debut album Meteorite Man is being released on the legendary label Balance, alongside his original productions that can be found on imprints such as Fabric, Audiofly’s Supernature, Guy J’s Lost & Found, Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, Get Physical, microCastle, Manjumasi, Cityfox & more. Support on his music has come across the board from both longstanding DJ legends, as well as the new wave of club tastemakers. Everyone from Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, and Joris Voorn, to Adriatique, Damian Lazarus, Thugfucker, and Tale of Us have championed the sounds of Cid.
With his passion for nightlife, as well as some memorable club experiences in the NY scene - Brian’s DJ career was born out of his organic talent for mixing melodic, lush, sublime & unexpected sounds. He’s now a regular at some of the most boundary-pushing events in NYC, like Cityfox @ The Brooklyn Mirage, Teksupport, Afterlife, and Members Only, along with tours all across the U.S. from Boston to Burning Man. Global tour highlights include Do Not Sit @ Heart Ibiza, The Bow in Buenos Aires, Hardpop in Mexico, Coda Toronto & Stereobar Montreal in Canada, Kater Blau Berlin, and dates throughout India & The Middle East.
Never one to be content in his accomplishments, the next chapter in the musical journey of Brian Cid is the recent launch of his project Endangered: a deep journey to the eclectic side of electronic music. The Endangered concept is both a record label for Brian to showcase his own music as well as other high- caliber artists he respects, but also an event series that combines music with live performance & art. Years of collaborative efforts between a team of like-minded
people have resulted in the development of these intimate live art showcases & sonic experiences. With Endangered coming to life, a calendar full of releases, and an ongoing global tour, the best is yet to come for Brian.
■ Eli Nissan
Eli Nissan [ Lost & Found- Plattenbank ]
An artist blessed with innumerable musical gifts, Eli Nissan, has been at the centre of Tel Aviv’s creative hub for well over two decades as DJ, musician and producer. Home to some of the underground dance industry’s most exciting talents, the native Israeli is the latest artist to emerge from a production line that includes the likes of Guy Mantzur, Khen and Guy J.
As guitarist for the fêted funk band, “Portrait”, Eli Nissan had already established a reputation as a polished performer inspired, in early years, by rock icons that included Jimmy Hendrix, Prince and Jimmy Page. A parallel interest in Motown, funk and disco, saw an incipient DJ career blossom, fused with the world of dance music as Frankie Knuckles, M.A.W ,Kenny Dope and David Morales flowed from Nissan’s artistic imagination behind the decks.
Early work signed to ALOLA, Addictive Records and Josecki’s Micasa Recordings, Nissan’s straight-up house helped pave the way for a shift in musical direction later. Taking a hiatus from the visible face of the electronic music industry in 2011, Nissan became a much sought after studio producer, working with some of the leading artists in the Israeli scene and creating numerous albums and projects en route.
However, the lure of the dance music industry proved too hard to resist and 2015 saw the return of Eli Nissan to the underground dance fraternity with DJ performances across his Tel Aviv hometown and a move back into the studio to work, once more, under his own name. Supported by close friends, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z, Chicola and Khen, Nissan’s skill behind the decks in the techno/deep house genres, has quickly been translated into an array of impressive gigs. Appearances alongside the DJ glitterati that includes Guy J, Marc Romboy and Guy Mantzur, in front of audiences of 70,000 at “Gay Parade” and 100,000 beside Bedrock’s iconic, John Digweed, have seen a growing legion of fans witness the fruits of a lifelong dedication to Eli Nissan’s craft.
Furthermore, regular appearances at the legendary “The Cat & The Dog” club in the Israeli capital, as well as a residency at the city’s über cool, “ARIA”, have helped catapult Nissan onto a global stage. Ibiza gigs for “Beach House” and pool parties for “Destino Pacha” in summer 2016 were followed by a performance at Amsterdam Dance Event for the “Movement Recordings Showcase” in October the same year, further paving the way for an upcoming South American tour of Argentina in May 2017.
An artist on a rapidly rising upwards trajectory, Eli Nissan’s work in the studio delights and astounds in equal measure. A deep house musical triptych for Plattenbank in December 2015 was an opening salvo in an ever-growing arsenal as MNL, Stripped, and Movement Recordings have all showcased Nissan’s work in 2016. Supported by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J, chart success has been a corollary of Nissan’s studio work as he prepares for his 2017 debut on the latter’s renowned Lost & Found imprint, in addition to work for Plattenbank, Guy Gerber’s Rumours and Guy J and Sahar Z’s brand new Armadillo label.
On March 2018 Eli back to Lost & Found on their Remixes Ep along remixes from Khen & Hermanez , Full Ep on Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank on June , debut Ep on EDGE Eran Aviner’s Sophisticated imprint, and more the announce soon
Eli Nissan stands at the brink of a bright and exciting future. Burning ambition coupled with outstanding talent have ensured his path to the summit of underground dance scene, in Israel and far beyond its borders, is clearly laid out before him.
