Ticket + booking fee /
(?)Why does RA charge a booking fee?x
Our booking fee covers the costs of providing our ticketing service.
We incur charges every time we take a card payment. We have labour and office costs for our developers, who build and maintain RA's website and our event discovery App, the RA Guide. We provide round-the-clock customer and promoter support and infrastructure to ensure you can buy tickets securely and speedily in over 50 countries. We cover all of these costs with one small per-ticket fee.
It goes deeper than that, too. RA is an independent company dedicated to supporting the electronic music community. By buying your tickets through RA, you become a part of that mission.
Concert (incl. Exhibition)22,00 €
Co-curated by label and arts platform Raster, with support from ∄, the Concert Hall hosts a distinctive concert series within the context of its first exhibition - NONDUAL.
Pre-sale only / limited capacity!
NONDUAL is presented by Albert van Abbe and Raster. In cooperation with Goethe-Institut Kyiv.
Being born and raised in an industrial region of Ukraine, Burning Woman was exposed to the gloomy atmosphere of large-scale manufacturing plants and the noisy environment of ever-growing construction sites since early childhood. At some point, she learned to love the decadent sight, and especially the sound of her hometown, developing a taste for avant-garde music, experimental electronics, noise, dark ambient, drone, and techno. Today, as a Kyiv-based DJ and musician, Burning Woman draws inspiration from various sources and constantly develops her own sound, using different methods of digital audio processing and synthesis as well as field recordings. This way she tries to express her individual experience of interaction with the world and her perception of it through music.
Dasha Rush is a Russian-born electronic music composer, sound artist and DJ, but her work continues through interdisciplinary practice, often with unique collaborations and themes. She likes to push the boundaries of contemporary music to the limit, yet still encourages experimentation with various musical (and non-musical) forms. Her last album, Sleepstep, could be a metaphor for her musical work - reflection of the in- between zones her music often inhabits. Dasha Rush is currently part of the curatorial board at Spacial Sound Institute in Budapest, with the current residency focusing on the development and experimentation in new spatial sound technology.
FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER (Cancelled)
(Unfortunately, Frank Bretschneider had to cancel his show, more info will follow soon.)
Frank Bretschneider is a musician, composer and video artist in Berlin. His work is known for precise sound placement, complex, interwoven rhythm structures and its minimal, flowing approach. Bretschneider’s subtle and detailed music is echoed by his visuals: perfect translated realizations of the qualities found in music within visual phenomena. After studying fine arts and inspired by science fiction radio plays and films he began experimenting with tape machines, synthesizers, and modified guitars in 1984, as well as exploring the possibilities of exchange between visual art and music by various means such as film, video and computer graphics. Most of Bretschneider’s early solo albums - about half a dozen - were under the alias Komet, the first, SAAT, appearing in 1996.
Mykyta Hriaznov is Friedensreich - a modular synth performer and synth-activist from Ukraine, co-founder of Modular.UA community and staple of the Corridor Audio label. Mykyta's fascination with modular instruments began in 2011. Since that time, he has developed an improvisational workflow, which he is calling "Modular Random Techno" - a way of playing live using modular synthesizers. Essentially, the workflow allows full-on improvisation within live performance, and is based on an ever-changing modular system - each individually compiled fro every performance.
NONDUAL by Albert Van Abbe is an audiovisual installation which utilizes generative audio and visual technology to create an extended, abstract and boundless concert experience; a non-present performance carries the improvisational beauty of generative technologies. Developed in parallel to the upcoming release on Raster of the same name, NONDUAL is a multi-sensory contemplation on the synergy of shape, form, colour and sound.
