We'll be bringing you the best local talent every third Saturday of the month. For August, we bring you Joe Bickle and Jorge Medina. Since 2003, they have been curators of the underground LA dance music scene through Gravy, Sexymodr, and now Lies Lies Lies and Animal Club. Come hear them weave an epic two hour sonic tapestry on our Turbosound system.
ABOUT JOE BICKLE::
The creative force behind Animal Club, Sexymodr, Lies Lies Lies and last but not least Gravy, Joe Bickle has been a vital contributor to LA's underground dance music scene for over a decade now.
Always known for squeezing out the sound of tomorrow while paying homage to the past, Joe has been a pivotal force in ushering in the sound that currently hold sway over Los Angeles, showcasing global stalwarts such as Claude Von Stroke, Sammy Dee, Seth Troxler, and M.A.N.D.Y in dark warehouses before they were household names.
Joe finds himself back at the forefront of LA's underground scene yet again. Tattooed with 10 years of House/Techno war stories, vinyls and memories to share with all. Never to proud to dig, Joe's selections run fresh, deep and with a heavier dose of heavy. As for now, Animal Club undergrounds will be his labor of love, along with countless of studio projects in his Silverlake home studio. Joe's dedication to bringing people together through quality dance music will keep him bringing music to Los Angeles for years to come.
ABOUT JORGE MEDINA::
Whether as part of Gravy, Lies, Lies, Lies or the current Animal Club flagship, Jorge Medina has been a contributor to the Los Angeles underground house/techno scene since his return home from San Francisco in 2003, playing alongside some of the biggest names in house and techno in various warehouses and dark dens across Los Angeles.
Jorge is an attorney by day and DJ by night, working to help finance and construct renewable energy projects. Jorge sets are known to keep the dance floor chugging blending tech-house and techno with a smattering of house classics. After seven parties under the Animal Club moniker and dozens of others over the years, Jorge shows no signs of letting up, continuing to work with long time partner Joe Bickle to bring quality events and international talent to the dance floors of Los Angeles.
The Gold Line's resident DJs, aDJnamedCK and Danny Miller, will be warming things up for you on Saturday. They have a combined 20+ years of experience dropping techno to fidget to house to minimal, spanning genres yet always staying classy, always keeping the feet moving.
New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, North Carolina, Mendocino, Portland and Paris (France!) are just some of the spots you might have seen them play out in the past decade.
In our second room will be a trio of LA DJ's, Mark Faicol, Josh Garcia, and Andrew Serrano.
Mark and Josh recently wrapped a successful run of throwing parties at the Westwood Brewing Company and have recently played gigs opening up for DJ Heather and at Avalon, among various other parties in the greater Los Angeles area.
Andrew Serrano is back in the US after a 7 month stint in London during 2009 where he won a Ministry of Sound DJ contest and held down a residency with the CYNT crew and played alongside such heavyweights as Bloody Beetroots, Erol Alkan, Simian Mobile Disco, and Lee Mortimer.
We are overloaded with musical talent and with two rooms in full force, this promises to be another night of AMAZING music. The vibe at our last parties has been amazing so don't miss out.
