London’s Azuli have just released announced their complete Space 2007 in Ibiza as they shape up for a scintillating debut season at one of the world’s best club environments. Having already set tongues wagging with the move to the iconic and world’s most popular venue for 2007 - which itself caused reverberations across the island, the UK and beyond – the team can now announce the first wave of DJs to star on the new terrace.
Over twelve dates through the beautiful summer on the island, Azuli aim to develop their sound further and attract some of the island’s most ardent clubbers. The lineup is arguably one of the most exciting, challenging and stimulating of the year, bristling with a kaleidoscopic range of spinners from around the world and closer to home.
It’s a selection dripping with superlative electronic talent, from New York’s iconic Francois K through to the dynamic Fedde le Grande, over to super hot remixers Dirty South making their Ibiza debut and the sublime sounds of AME. Then there are the legendary X-Press 2 mixing it with French duo Alan Braxe and Kris Menace, dirty and twisted house from Jo Mills and of course Azuli’s founder and resident DJ David Piccioni at the helm for almost all of the Space dates. Plus so many more names too, all leaders in their fields, illustrating the drive and determination from everyone behind Azuli to make this season for them the best year and to fully consolidate their global reputation.
The Azuli team have worked incredibly hard to shape a season of DJs who reflect their musical ethos and to bring together some of the leaders of their respective genres, encompassing all that’s good about electronic music. And the crucial fact that Azuli have gone away from the more conventional Ibiza names you would expect to see, actively developing a programme of DJs who whilst are all substantial figures in music, they are also a bit left of centre. Azuli has always been about bringing new and exciting music to the fore, both in London, through their tours and global residencies, and this summer will further enforce their status as one of the leading outfits in the world.
If this wasn’t enough, Bar Azuli also opens in Ibiza Town this summer. A separate project to Space, it will be the focal point for clubbers, locals, DJs and friends of the club to relax in an Azuli themed space before moving on to a club. Azuli are also working in partnership with the UK’s biggest download website, www.beatport.com, adding to the mounting excitement for Ibiza 2007.
