We cordiallly invite you to attend our beloved NYC Shakedown @ Bembe, a DJ/Live instrumental dance party hosted by yours truly, Nutritious & Wilder. This Wednesday, we present a very special BK Shakedown with the legendary E-MEN.
A little history...
...EMan's a New Yorker to the tilt; got his nickname working for Tommy Boy records from Monica Lynch. He's played at NYC bars and clubs such as Coney Island High, Centro-Fly, Chameleon Lounge, Cheetah, Nowbar, 205 Club, Baktun, 13, Idlewild, Sapphire, Frank's Lounge, Warehouse and Cielo, to name a few - and in clubs as far away as Sweden and the Czech Republic.
He's released many internationally renowned singles and remixes on well-respected record labels - including the infamous "It's Yours" on Chez Music, "Musical Prayer" on Wave Music, "I Am the Road" on MAW Recordings and "Brooklyn (Where I Live)"on Sfere Recordings. EMan also co-executive produced the conceptual compilation album, "Bang The Party: Volume One" (Jellybean/Sony) and a soon to be released documentary of the same name.
EMan continues to write, produce and vocalize on projects - collaborating with some of the best producers in the global music community and has recently launched the LIBERATE indie record label along with renowned Chicago-based producer, Doc Link - with a multitude of original dance music forthcoming (available through www.traxsource.com/liberate).
EASY MO BEE:
Easy Mo Bee (born Osten Harvey, Jr. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York) is a Grammy-winning hip hop/R&B record producer, most notable for his affiliation with Bad Boy Records in its early years and his heavy production involvement in The Notorious B.I.G.'s acclaimed debut Ready to Die.
In high school, Harvey donned his Mo Bee moniker and started a group named "Rappin' is Fundamental" among some classmates. One of its members played one of Easy Mo Bee's beat tapes for his classmate, the Brooklyn rapper who would become known as Big Daddy Kane. Impressed, Kane had Easy produce two tracks on the rapper's album It's a Big Daddy Thing and netted him production on many of Kane's future releases.
Afterward, Easy produced the lion's share of Words from the Genius, the debut album of GZA from what would become the Wu-Tang Clan. Easy Mo Bee also produced Miles Davis' final studio album, 1992's Doo-Bop, which won the 1993 Grammy Award for Best R&B Instrumental Performance.
And there's so much more... but you gotta come to the Brooklyn Shakedown this Wednesday to hear the rest!
Special guests will also be announced from deep within NY’s funk, jazz, soul scene to sit-in live and help bring the heat with additional dancefloor support by Nutritious.
Expect a ridiculous night... Bembe’s signature tropical drinks served blessed and fresh by Tory and vibez by the Z-W.
