Benji B, Deadboy, Brackles, Budakan, Em
Stop.Drop.Roll is a coming together of the rousing bass heavy music scene and one of London’s most pioneering clubs. Its aim is simple, to present the best in groundbreaking music from all manner of artists, with one common denominator. BASS.
Benji B’s celebrated 1Xtra show was quickly snapped up for a late night Radio 1 slot at the end of last year, and since then his intuition into the freshest, breakthrough tracks has propelled him to forefront of the UK Bass explosion. Recent shows have seen Benji shine the light on the likes of Odd Future, James Blake and the prolific Nightslugs imprint, whilst his long running Deviation parties lay testament to his ever-relevant, dancefloor selections. Expect low end cuts, neon bright synths and a smattering of experimental hip hop, rnb and dancehall.
We’ll also be welcoming back the heart-wrenching electronica of Numbers producer, Deadboy. Fresh off the back of his second release from the Scottish label, the South London sound sculptor will bring all the emotive vocal reworking, garage and grime inflections and nu-house approaches to The Nest’s basement boogie-hut. His music has been said to ‘reduce grown men to tears and result in clothing being cast asunder and hands raised to the roof’ at the same time, certainly not a small feat.
As if that wasn’t enough, Rinse FM DJ and Blunted Robots label boss Brackles joins the foray with his understated strand of leftfield garage/house influenced electronica. A regular at the seminal Thursday night FWD parties, Brackles is famous for making heaving crowds get down for a proper vibes, UK style.
Stop.Drop.Roll resident and music blogger Budakan and Nest favourite, Em are all on board to warm things up nicely. Come join us as genre will be out the window and we will welcome in the varied sounds of UK club culture in one of London’s hottest new spots.
