As part of the next installment of MN Presents..., Kevin Reynolds will be crossing the Atlantic to deliver a rare two hour live performance. This unique event will take place in The United Arts Club, near Baggot St. (Details Below) Local jocks Shane O’Meara & Barry Greaves, will be initiating proceedings on the night. We might even lend a hand ourselves should time and sobriety permit.
Kevin first came to our attention back in June ‘10 when his live recording from DEMF 2010 featured as a Bleep 43 podcast. Reports back to us from the event were also highly complementary to say the least. Starting as an intern at Transmat, Kevin quickly learned the ways of the trade, taking his queues as a young lad from his contemporaries in the Motor City. Kevin now helps curate the “Made in Detroit” at DEMF, perhaps the last vestige of local talent at a festival which many would claim has forgotten its roots. Earlier in the summer, Kevin dropped us a live-set, once again exhibiting his vast array of talents. Crafted with his own material, edits & remixes, his genre-bending live recording was an honour for us to host on mntothat.com. He also spoke a few words to accompany the set where he talked about his experiences in an honest, open & friendly manner, often so rare to see. Not your average live-show, Kevin’s two hour performance promises a lot. Expect anything from techno, house, disco & a wide range of his influences, as he works all his gear and of course, his 808. Kevin is being touted by many as a rising star so this show is not one to miss.
On the night, Shane O’Meara and Barry Greaves will be setting the mood. We’re delighted to have these lads warming up, two hard-working DJs who in our opinion, are amongst the finest this city. We’ve witnessed Shane mix it up in style at many of the Lunar Disko parties down through the years. He also contributed a fine mix to mntothat.com, Hypoxic Delusions, an ode to his travels and still remaining one of our favourite contributions to the site to date.
Barry, another MN favourite, has been DJing around Ireland for years. Currently a resident at the Warehouse Collective parties, we recently asked him to be the first DJ to contribute a second guest mix to mntothat.com. Barry's also started dabbling more into his production and from what we've heard... he's a duck on water.
