Rick Maia, James Monday, Ross Morse, Dimitry Slusarenko, Alessandro Osini
FREITAG HOST RUSSIAN BAR MAIN ROOM - SAT 05 NOVEMBER 2011
Joining residents James and Dimitry we have special guests:
Rick and Ross will be performing their B2B special.
These guys threw a "wobbler" on the dancefloor last time they played at Freitag, so if you missed them then, dont miss it this time round!
Rick Maia has developed to become a DJ with extraordinary technical ability and a producer with an ear that binds together the best of the underground with a hook that promises production success on a much grander scale. With his first release working dance floors across the globe and promos already making waves with many DJs on the scene, he has the enthusiasm, intelligence and understanding of the dance music environment that makes him one of the scene's current hottest prospects.
Over the last few years, Rick has secured residencies at worldwide sync international events (formally Gifted presents…) and also Going Places at The Gallery at both Turnmills and Ministry of Sound. It was at a Gifted party that guest DJ Tania von Pear offered him the Going Places residency to him as soon as she heard him play. In addition, there are not many clubs in London that have not had Rick grace their decks with incredible results every time. Recent gigs have seen him rock many of the Capital's dance floors including Ministry of Sound, Pacha, East Village, Aquarium and Egg. Internationally the word has also got out with Club h2o – Thailand, Piekarnia – Warsaw, Hrad Beckov festival – Slovakia, Miniclub – Valencia and Arenal sound Festival – Burriana all taking Rick to their heart, with innumerable visits to other parts of Europe and Asia also on his CV.
With production such a vital part of the modern DJs armoury, Rick has devoted himself to the studio in recent months with his customary zeal. His exciting first release - Lucky Strike - on 16Steps has set tongues wagging and has been gratefully received by both industry professionals and the dancefloor alike. With further tracks pending release, 2011 will see his music spread far and wide and we can also expect to see Rick putting the Maia stamp onto remixes from his peers.
Guest DJ mixes have featured on Proton, Sceen.FM for Daniel Kyo presents.. and Ministry of Sound Radio. He also has his own weekly show on Tuesdays 6-8pm GMT on www.global1fm.com which sees him mix live and invite guest DJs and producers into the studio to offer mixes of their own and also topical chat.
Rick's passion for searching out the best new music has seen him develop his sound on from his tech house roots, into a deeper dance floor friendly electronic sound, referred to as 'emotional house and techno'. He combines impeccable taste with impressive technical skills to superb effect.
Rick Maia is simply all about the scene. He lives and breathes music and this is obvious whether you are listening to him mix, produce or speak on the radio. He truly has the full package and serious quality inevitably produces outstanding results. With Rick you can be assured of this and more with every performance.
After playing out only for a short while, Ross has already stamped his mark on the scene with shows at Day of Hugs Festival, Minimal Animal(Bournmouth) and Sync International(Reading) already under his belt. His influences come from all genres of well produced music. Ross has his own weekly radio show every Tuesday 8pm – 10pm on Global1 FM, which ensures he always has a bag of the latest tracks in the underground house and techno scene.
