-BRANDT BRAUER FRICK-
We’re really excited to bring you a show with German acoustic techno trio Brandt Brauer Frick. The young group of friends blend their unique set of influences- Daniel Brandt and Jan Brauer’s “jazz club music†and Paul Frick’s classical concert hall-esque training- to make a mindblowing fusion of classical and house music. Their latest release is a reimagination of British electro singer Emika’s “Pretend†on Ninja Tune and the group has been hitting the festival circuit heavy in the past few months, playing Coachella, Tonlagen, and Mutek festivals. Though the group’s just starting out, they’re impressing audiences with their imaginative instrumentation and fusion synthesis of traditional classical and modern electronic music.
Humans are a Canadian duo that create indie dance music influenced by their fun and party-filled pasts. Their first single “Avec Mes Mecs†(“with my brosâ€) creates an atmosphere that sounds like just what the title suggests: having fun at a wild and crazy party with your closest friends. While former warehouse performer/party promoter Peter Ricq and firefighter/folk musician Robbie Slade have just started collaborating, they’re constantly changing up their energetic and melodious sound, creating music that’s never predictable. Here’s hoping the party never ends.
After meeting at a Brooklyn loft party (where else?), Maxime Pasquier and Andrew Potter joined together to form Populette. The French producer Pasquier, who worked on remixes for acts like The Rapture, Soulwax and Who Made Who under the name Max Pask, and East Coast born Potter who created the Throne of Blood label, bring a combined decade of work in parties, music, and DJing to their new project. In the past year, the band has started off with a bang, releasing two singles and remixes of songs by Murphy Jax, The Rapture and Hannulelauri. After such an explosive beginning, we can’t wait to hear what the duo comes out with next.
