Ex Fat Trucker, DFA dissident (as Gucci Soundsystem), former Disco Bloodbath producer - now in bed with Dalston Superstore's Dan Beaumont as the much lauded Jam Factory. Ben Rymer has the power, wit and thorny nature necessary to drag a dancefloor to the nether regions of expectation - one of the reason James Murphy recently chose him to be the sole warm up act at his recent DFA 10th Anniversary Extended Party in London. Check out, in particular, 'Thick Cut' on Jam Factory 1 and 'One Night Stand' with ex Rapture bass man Mattie Safer on the Jam Factory soundcloud page. Also recently remixed the likes of Ben Westbeech, Discodeine and 'Bear Hug' by 2 Bears (with whom they have a collaboration due shortly under the Bear Factory Moniker).
Daniel Ormondroyd: A founder of the legendary Big Kahuna Burger night, as well as co creator of similarly historic, groundbreaking sonic assaults - 21st Century Body Rockers and Headstart. Records and produces as Skint / City Rockers recording artist FC Kahuna.
Nathan Gregory Wilkins
The head honcho / top notch selector from probably the best reedits/ eccentric curveball record label around - 'History Clock' and owner of , without doubt, one of the deepest, most left leaning record collections you could ever hope to come across (and a resplendent chap to boost). Also newly appointed monthly resident at David Lynch's nightclub in Paris. Could we ask for more?
Life In Tokyo: Welcome to our black mass...
Saturday 12 October: 10pm-4am: Goth Disco, Outsider House
Following last months road block launch party we are back this time with a late license for our last party before the end of the year.
In the sumptuous seediness of the wonderful bat cave esque basement of Stoke Newington's Baby Bathhouse, Life In Tokyo is set to be an event for the night; machine humping seduction and dark party souls. The aim is to offset the path of the modern DJ - that trend drunk 'occupation' - playing for the masses, modernity gone haywire - soul sucking careerism on the rampage. Life In Tokyo, say “no more” to such values. They politely decline to go down those paths; promising records that mean more than the mix, or who is flavour of the month - Life in Tokyo will be an evening of darkened gothic disco and outsider house dedicated to the ones that got away, the disenfranchised and the disassociated.
