Loefah (Cross-genre set)
Jay Shepheard (live)
London-based label & clubnight Audio Doughnuts are returning in fine style. Crowned as one of Mixmag's best clubnights of 2011 and with a slew of sold-out live events under their belts, the much-lauded imprint return from their sold-out 2012 Leeds show and back to the capital for the seventh in their eponymous 'Presents' series; crash-landing with an enormous line-up into Brixton's Plan B on the 10th of March.
Keen to outdo the already incomparable list of guests to grace the Audio Doughnuts listings through 2011, AD has added Swamp 81 frontman Loefah to the top of the billing playing an exclusive cross-genre set encompassing a range of 80's boogie, dancehall and his very own unique selection. Joining Loefah will be unmissable Garage Legend MJ Cole, who brings his decade-spanning knowledge and undeniable versatility to proceedings. Recent Resident Advisor podcaster Jay Shepheard will be catering for the Disco House set with a completely live set, showcasing his own unique, colourful take on the genre. Then there's more; Numbers vet Redinho will be bringing a live, vocoder-led set of his broken, glitchy electronics into the mix, the legendary Wookie will be giving his legendary work-out through garage and 4x4, plus there'll be something a little different from Krystal Klear and his unique, experimental twist on bass-led disco. To add Enchufada-signed Diamond Bass will be presenting a set of Portuguese and Brazilian-born Kuduro sounds.
As ever, the Audio Doughnuts family will be noisily in attendance; from the burgeoning label comes the Jackmaster-tipped Pusherman who find time between their recent LNUK release 'Shake It Off' and their forthcoming Audio Doughnuts material to bring a typically energetic set to the night. Up-and-comers TOYC & Teeza will be curating a set blurring the lines between house, techno & funk - plus a look at some of the very best grime has to offer, whilst Rinse FM's very own Shox will be bringing his selection expertise to us ahead of his Roska's Kicks & Snares release.
Having seen 10,000 party-goers pass through the doors of Audio Doughnuts in 2011 and with expectations and plans growing unstoppably, the return of Audio Doughnuts to London marks the start of another year of manic, eclectic raves and enormous line-ups. Sticking firmly to their passion for, pretention-free, mixed-genre nights, the line-ups boast something for every corner of even the most discerning electronic music fan's tastes. With their unmistakable passion and enthusiasm for delivering a incomparable party, it's little surprise that every show in 2011 has sold out in advance. Now, heading into Plan B, armed with a Funktion-One soundsystem, an additonal lightshow, and some of the most exciting producers and DJ's of the moment, this unmissable party is just a taste of what Audio Doughnuts are set to offer in 2012.
Tickets for this event will sell out in advance with a limited number of tickets reserved for the door, if there has ever been a time when advance tickets have been a necessity this would be it. For those who don't manage to grab their tickets in advance, an early arrival is highly recommended."
