Automatic Tasty, Jerome Hill, Gavin Richardson, AGT Rave Cru, Placid
London versus Scotland at Ginglik this March, when I Love Acid showcases a lineup from Edinburgh's top acid/techno crew SUBSTANCE roll into town.
For the better part of the last decade SUBSTANCE have been hosting some of the best techno & acid nights north of the border - with guests such as Jeff Mills, Luke Vibert, Planetary Assault Systems, Nathan Fake, Speedy J, and countless others (including an I Love Acid party with Posthuman & Global Goon...)
They now roll into the big smoke to join the I LOVE ACID crew down in the subterranean beat bunker that is Ginglik, with a live set fromIrish acid wizard Automatic Tasty, as well as Substance resident Gavin Richardson
Representing the ILA contigent will be Placid & the AGT Rave Cru. This should be a big one, don your baggy smiley t-shirts, grab some glowsticks, and head west on Sat 31st March.
Directly opposite Shepherds Bush tube station (zone 2, Central Line / Overground) this is worth making the journey out West for.
(Lunar Disko / Substance Audio) - live
Irish analogue acid wizard Automatic Tasty has been turning heads over the last year or so with his pure machine soul music. Returning to the original methods of Detroit and Chicago in the 80’s, he draws out of the hardware some seriously deep and lush acid house and techno.
Auto makes a rare journey across the Irish sea, to play a full live set for us. Not to be missed.
(Uglyfunk / Swerving The Community)
Inspired at an early age by the pirate radio sounds of London, Jerome first took the the turntables in 1990 - spinning hip hop, house, breakbeat and early European techno . In '94 he hooked up with infamous soundsystem "JIBA" and further honed his expert scratching and mixing style.
Jerome managed London's "Trackheads" and "Dragon Discs" record shops in Camden Town for 7 years, and is one half of Groove Asylum. His reputation is that of one of the most respected underground DJ's in the city, effortlessly switching genres and styles. Jerome has always followed his own musical path; constantly sniffing out exciting new (and old) tracks to add to his sets while never paying attention to current trends. Holding down a residency at Uglyfunk, regularly DJing across Europe and the world, running his own label "Don't", and a regular radio show (Swerving the Community), Jerome Hill is clearly a man on a musical mission.
Resident DJ at Edinburgh’s most notorious techno clubnight, Substance, Gavin has shared billing with the likes of Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Nathan Fake, Surgeon, Luke Vibert, Neil Landstrumm, and many more.
Expect a set of proper, up-front no-holds-barred jacking acid techno
AGT RAVE CRU
I Love Acid hosts & residents, AGT run at a hundred-tracks-an-hour on stage, mashing up rave anthems, acid house, old skool classics, 80's electro, Chicago house, hardcore, bleepy techno, and whatever else happens to be tickling them at the time...all at lightning speed without ever missing a beat.
Firmly tongue-in-cheek, like a hyperactive 2manydjs meets Altern8 in Orbital glasses and hi-viz vests, this is about serious dancefloor destruction.
