As all you Tech House lovers know, Marco Faraone requires no introduction. He may be young, but his achievements within the dj & production scene stretch a long way, leading him to be highly thought of by all. He was born in Lucca, Italy, in 1988, with music running in his blood as his grandfather was a folk singer & guitarist, and his father was dj/host of one of the first dance music radio shows in his region. By the time he turned 14, his passion, charisma and determination for music, saw him playing in clubs throughout his local region of Italy.
By 2008 he was playing at one of Spain’s largest electronic music events, the Klubbers Day Festival (Telefónica Arena in Madrid), as well as a number of the capital’s top clubs such as Fabrik, Danzoo Macumba & Life is Music parties & supplemented this with his first production release “Arabia†on the label of Alex Neri (Tenax recordings). 2009 led to more big name festivals such as Electrosonic (Burgos, Spain) & collaborations with Luca Agnelli in the form of EP’s such as Meat Pack. Its was during this time that Marco caught the eye of leading names such as Loco Dice, with many of his tracks becoming a staple in Dice’s sets during this period. By the end of the year, Marco also had a new 12 inch ready, the "Want life time EP" which reached the Number 1 position on leading international online shop, Decks.
In 2010 projects included studio collaborations with his new friend Arado, which lead to huge success in the release of what is hailed as one of the best tech house tracks of all time . . . Strange Neighbours was released on Moon Harbour in 2010 & continues to ring out through the speakers of any reputable current rave. 2011 & 12 has also only seen Marco grow from strength to strength with a consistent line of huge releases including Raw Way (Etruria Beat), Jeans In The Fridge (Four Twenty) & more recently Orange Again (Moon Harbour) to name but a few.
Often quoted as the freshest, hottest & most exciting DJ / Musician partnership to hit the Manchester scene in a long time, "MDNA" or "McLaren DNA" are two brothers born, raised & based in Manchester, England, who have now combined to unite their uncontrollable love for music. They are creative, innovative, and most of all highly energetic, which sets them apart from the competition. It is clear when experiencing the duo live that their amazing energy and creativeness on the decks comes from nothing other than their love for music, the industry & its surroundings.
Heavily influenced by their father’s love of music (playing both bass guitar & saxophone) both brothers were always destined for the music game. Marco, there eldest of the duo, has been in the game since the early age of just 16 when he began his DJ career spinning UK garage on the infamous 1210's. He has since progressed through time & experience into a full house music enthusiast, specialising in Deep house, Tech & Techno. Paul LR, the younger of the two, found his love for everything Deep, Tech & Techno aged just 20, after his first trip to the wonderful white isle of Ibiza & has never looked back since.
The brother’s love for this music will become ever more apparent as the pair are now producing some amazingly melodic & deep underground tech house. Watch this space!
Venues already under the duo’s belt include, Space Ibiza, Sankey’s, Spectrum, South, Joshua Brooks, Cord, Fac251, Ibiza Rocks Hotel & Hush Ibiza to name a few . . . Playing under promoters such as, Sankey’s, Kaluki, WHP, Afterlife, Oxymoron, Boardroom Sessions, Rejekt, Vision, Idiosync & playing along side / supporting DJ’s such as Jamie Jones, Art Department, Robert James, Richy Ahmed, Tennis, Yaya, Shaun Reeves, Michael James, Evan Baggs, Miguel Campbell, Heidi, Solomun, Audio Jack, Darius Syrossian, Tale Of Us, Thugfucker, Clockwork, Fur Coat, Matt Fear & more.
Bennion & Freddie
Having spent years living for the weekend, building up a solid and expansive record collection and DJ’ing at house parties far and wide, Bennion & Freddie decided that 2012 was to be the time to make their impression in the club scene.
Not complying to the boundaries of a specific house genre or sound, the pair's sound can be defined by the prominent and infectious groove that runs throughout their sets and the diverse tune selection in which it’s applied. Baseline heavy, and with a regular nod to the old school, the driving style of their sets can be best compared to sounds of the DC10 terrace in the daytime. The pair very much play to the crowd, and have an astute understanding of how to set the perfect mood for the point in the night which they are playing, never looking to overstate themselves at the expense of the perfect party atmosphere.
Although becoming accomplished DJ's in their own individual right, Bennion & Freddie have an unspoken connection behind the decks that translates onto the dancefloor with nothing but positivity. To date, bookings include the supporting of DJ's such as Reboot, Robert Dietz, Darius Syrossian, Samu.L, Nima Gorji, Enzo Siragusa and Kanio. These two also hold residency at Manchester House/Techno night Walkthehorse setting the tone for what to expect from the duo. These two are already greatly received by the public and with plenty more scheduled for the remainder of the year in Manchester and beyond, things don't seem to be slowing down any time soon.
Greg Purnell & Ah-lex
These two guys sucker's for a strong kick drum or baseline. Therefore its only fitting that you can find them continually stationed alongside new & uprising talent at Manchester’s best house events. Whether it be in the booth delivering their take on house music or in the crowd taking it all in, either way, Greg & Alex (Ah-lex) are men fully submerged in the new Manchester club scene & this quickly shows on meeting the all around nice duo Having a keen ear for a future cult tune coupled with a special understanding on how to get a crowd air hugging and fist pumping, leaves these two as men to watch for the future.
Both have already proven themselves at WHP after-parties & a huge list of local scene driving clubs whilst also running the very credible and exciting club night "Oxymoron", previously hosting artists such as Jimpster, Milton Jackson, Lovebirds, Ethyl & more.
In 2011, Tom Robinson and Jack Worden whilst discovering their love for house & techno, decided to join forces as DJ's forming the duo UDA.
The two DJ's/Producers (one half from Preston, the other from Manchester) are making serious headway in 2012 & must be stated when on decks they create a dance floor vibe not for the faint hearted. This can only be attributed to their roots & love, which lay within underground house & techno music. They can be found regularly spinning at Sankeys Manchester amongst numerous other locations across the UK, having played alongside the likes of The Martinez Brothers, Lee Foss, Tiger & Woods, Miguel Campbell, Riva Starr, Darius Syrossian and Tania Vulcano to name a few. Also holding a current residency with DeeP Manchester, UDA are definitely tipped to progress well in 2012 and look forward to playing gigs across the UK and Ibiza later in the year.
