Posthuman, Kirk Degiorgio, Nightwave, Placid
I Love Acid presents the official launch party for Posthuman’s new EP ‘Nebula’, featuring a live set from Posthuman, plus DJ sets from remixers Kirk Degiorgio and Nightwave.
Celebrating the release of their new EP Nebula, is a full live show from Posthuman. Known for their genre-shifting output that spans techno, electronica, breaks, acid, and electro - always with a signature sound of deep brooding science-fiction menace. Founders of Seed Records back in 2001, and hosts of the legendary tube station parties (held in an abandoned underground train station in London), that saw them play alongside the likes of Aphex Twin, Goldfrapp, Plaid, Luke Vibert, and many more.
Over the last few years Posthuman have established themselves across the UK and Europe as serious heavy-hitters on the dancefloor, and released an ever harder series of vinyl records and labels such as Uncharted Audio, Handsette, B12, and Balkan Vinyl, focussed on jacking rave-fused techno and electroid darkness: check the videos below to hear for yourself!

In the business for over 20 years, Degiorgio is considered one most influential UK techno producers and a true innovator - generally regarded as the first major DJ to switch entirely to Ableton, and his influence has spread far & wide. Recording under various alias' (such as Future/Past, Elegy, Esoterik, and As One) on imprints such as Planet E, R&S, Mo Wax, Rush Hour, B12, New Religion, and his own influential label Applied Rhythmic Technology (A.R.T.).
Kirk's output as both a DJ and producer is notoriously diverse, ranging from classic soul and jazz right through to cutting edge techno - the latter showcased at the concept clubnight MACHINE which he curates with Ben Sims, where DJs are instructed to play only new or unreleased techno.
Kirk can usually be found headlining heavyweight events and established clubnights in Berlin, Moscow, New York, Tokyo, and London - so we're especially honoured that he will be playing such an intimate one-off set for us in West London. Put this date in your diary - this will be a special night!
Previously kown as 8-Bitch, Nightwave is one Maya Medvesek of Slovenian descent - now splitting her time between Glasgow and London where she’s creating some of the freshest electronic club music around.
Part of the second wave of talented producers to come out of Scotland alongside the likes of Hudson and Rustie, her ‘G41’ track has already made an appearance on Ministry of Sound’s ‘Adventures In Dubstep and Beyond.’ Her debut EP ‘Equinox’ on Seed Records back in late 2010 garnered massive ciritical acclaim, picking up props from the likes of Mixmag, i-DJ and The Wire. Her follow up on Svetlana Industries has established Nightwave as one of the most sought after up & coming acts on the electronics scene today.
Now gigging across the world, and representing the Red Bull Music Academy, her exceptionally original sound fuses the maximal vibes of Glasgow's Numbers crew, with old skool rave, classic Detroit techno, dubstep and electronica. One to watch (FACT Mag)
Since 1990 Placid has been spinning the platters that matter. Known for sets of purest acid house, his gigging biography has taken him to Detroit, New York, Berlin, France, Spain and Holland as well as Glastonbury and BLOC.
Known as the "DJ's DJ" and reputed owner of one of the worlds most encompassing collections of Acid House, I Love Acid resident, walking acid-house encyclopedia Placid once again digs deep into his crate to bring you a pure vinyl set of the absolute best of Acid House, Detroit Techno, Retro Electro and Chicago House
