"VISITORS FROM ANOTHER MEANING"
This saturday - multiregional xtravganza of visiting underground freaks, a stacked bill for those who know! Coming from O.G. Detroit techno heritage is a live set by Ultradyne, who have been playing for 19 years and have just reunited as a mask-wearing 3-piece. Also live is newer generation Chicago House player, Svengalisghost, who recently released an incredible Chris & Cosey-meets house record on L.I.E.S.. On the decks are DJ Sotofett, the head of elusive Norweigan record label SEX TAGS MANIA, as well as eccentric Queens-based Italian producer, Madteo. Not to mention... a MAJOR sound upgrade, because James Gerard of Desolation Sounds is bringing his hand-built 'proper' soundsystem all the way from Boston, and installing 10 custom bass-traps for soundproofing in the warehouse, simply because he wants to contribute to this badass lineup! Visuals, fog, vibes like always. Come dance, summer heat style!

Mysterious figure behind the highly sought-after Sex Tags Mania label from Norway, which has been releasing obscure techno/house/black metal/other oddities from underground, mostly Norweigan artists. From RA's label of the month writeup, "Sex Tags was the only label the Detroit musician Omar-S cited as being worthwhile—alongside Donato Dozzy, Scott Grooves, Theo Parrish, Kyle Hall, "and that's it." Their discography includes deep analog house, homespun disco, studiously minimalist techno, mutant Russian electronics, gothic synth pop, narcotic Afrobeat, psychedelic rock and lo-fi, instrumental hip-hop recorded in the '90s and mastered off an overdubbed cassette tape. One record—"Bass Drum," credited to TR-909 and released in conjunction with an art exhibition—consists only of a single lock groove; the title is self-explanatory."

Italian born Queens resident who's released strange and alluring futuristic techno records on Joy Orbison's label, Hinge Finger, Meakusma & others, and has been remixed by Hieroglyphic Being, Anthony Shake Shakir, Kassem Mosse, Marcellus Pittman and others. His recent EP writeup: "a rainswept blend of hip-hop, house and techno; a diverse, tense and enthralling survey of Madteo's own world of muffled, deep, body-rocking bass and layered, worked drama."

Mask-wearing, OG Detroit, Drexciyan-affiliates, Ultradyne has been making relentless, raw, deep aquatic electro since 1993. They've put out many quality releases over the years on Warp Records, Pi Gao Movement & others, including a great collaboration with Redshift. While the band was separated, we had member Vidrio (solo) for Halloween and he was INSANE! As a three piece, this is going to be incredible.
Real deal Chicago freak who used to make music as Belowunderground. His recent record on L.I.E.S. is super catchy, jacking, Chicago-influenced analog house that also has a minimal synth vibe. And I heard his live set at DEMF was crazy hypnotic....

Boston resident & fulltime scientist James Gerard used to throw outdoor raves in his native Vancouver. Inspired to build his own system by going to David Mancuso's Loft & Dope Jams parties, he hand made this huge 10piece analog system from high quality Crest, Crown & Rane parts. (maybe sound heads will know this gear stuff?! haha)
He's brought it all the way from Boston and custom built 10 huge bass-traps to soundproof the warehouse, just because he wants to help out! Serious passion - super psyched to enjoy this very special sound upgrade.
$10 before 11:30. $12 after, Cheap bar.
