Sound Advice is back! And this time we're taking the Thames by storm (not literally we hope) as we shake things up a little, boat style. Following the success of the last gig at Cafe1001 with Secret Guest, Darius Syrossian we thought we'd put on a little treat for our fans and throw an exclusive boat party for the people we love most.
The Vallula is double decked with a big open top deck. The lower deck is fitted out with a tidy soundsystem and bar....and a plank, for any pirates that may or may not show up. Also, please note that the BAR IS CASH ONLY.
Now finally after weeks of behind the scenes action we are proud to give a very warm welcome to our headline act, we can finally reveal as internationally established, DJ/Producer, Ashley Casselle (Superfreq/Paper Recordings).
Ashley's promos have been played out by legends, Laurent Garnier and Andrew Weatherall, so we are absolutely thrilled to get him [literally] on board! Ashley's deep house/techno blend (with a hint of indie occasionally) has won him fans from all corners of the globe. As comfortable djing in twisted dark rooms in the twilight underworlds of LA, London or Moscow as he is playing to crowds at festivals and headlining main rooms, Ashley's a unique dj who understands how to release the excitement levels continuously in the mix and work a room with a bit of dancefloor magic during his trademark 'grooveathon' sets.
Since being singled out by DJ Mag and Mixmag in 2004 as a 'future deck hero', his name has become synonomous with quality electronic music, scoring residencies and guest slots in clubs such as Giant LA, Zouk Singapore, Warung Brazil, Womb Japan, Space Ibiza, Pyramidia Russia (yes, a pyramid shaped club no less!) and Issst London secured his rise to international dj status and lead up to his debut artist album release in 2007, on the Global Underground label, with 'Too Low To Miss' by alias The Remote. This and some extensive touring of the States helped him edge into the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, taking him and his records even further round the globe. More recently he's earned guest slots at SuperFreq LA (the legendary Mr.C's clubnight) and East London's rave paradise 93 Ft East.
Since his Radio1 Essential Mix and more recently the Ashmachine Live series, he's been working on mixes and tracks the likes of Paper Recordings and Wall of Sound, with some new singles/remixes forthcoming for labels such as New York's AIR Recordings and new UK imprint Something Different Records.
Support comes our trusty shipmates, SA residents; Nathan Rivers, Aubreychenko, Johnny Fiore, and welcoming Max & Jamma (Bread & Butter) plus Felipe Bublanc & Luc dv (Nice one Musik), plus array of up-and-coming London talent including ; sarahL & Warren East and Charlie Gill to name a few!
This promises to be an afternoon out to remember, however we wouldn't just leave you asking for more when the boat stops would we? And that is why we can also announce that we a warehouse after-party lined up for you in Bethnal Green, an awesome space where we will be carrying on until late! Transport will be arranged and details given on the boat.
It's going to be an amazing afternoon out in the sun (mostly, we hope!) on a with a free glass of champagne for all aboard, so get it straight in the diary and let us know if you have any questions - [email protected] - [email protected]
See you on Sunday!
