PUTTING THE ART IN PARTY AT TEMPLE WORKS LEEDS
DAVE BEER (Back to Basics)
BUCKLEY ( Hot Creations / Viva Recordings / One Records)
FRENCHY (Throwing Shapes / Back To Basics)
JONNY WREN ( Illusion / T-pot)
On Saturday 30th of June we’ve been invited to put on a very special party as part of the Jamie Reid Ragged Kingdom Exhibition at the amazing, yet little known, Temple Works Leeds.
The man behind the pioneering and world renowned punk art for the Sex Pistols (God Save the Queen, Anarchy in the UK, Nevermind the B****cks), Jamie Reid’s work has been the inspiration for Back to Basics most iconic imagery. As well as producing Basics 1st anniversary flyer and poster back in the 90s, Jamie also held an art exhibition at Basics, so we are delighted to be involved with another of his exhibitions.
On the night, we will be taking over one of the very rarely used basement rooms in Temple Works with music supplied by Dave Beer, Frenchy and more Basics residents to be confirmed. We are also giving you another chance to see some of our own collection that was previously on display at Leeds Gallery and Harvey Nichols.
Entry will be £10 which gives you full access to the party as well as the exhibition. As we said before, this is a very limited capacity event, so, get your names on the event wall for guest list and arrive early to guarantee entry.
Back To Basics, putting the art in party since 1991.
Find out more about the exhibition which is open to the public until July 14th here:

ABOUT TEMPLE WORKS LEEDS
Temple Works is the Grade 1 listed Victorian former flax mill that made history as “the largest room in the world”, with sheep grazing on a skylit roof in the heart of Leeds industrial revolution. The buildings façade is modelled on the Temple of Horus at Edfu in Egypt and it was built between 1836 and 1840. Its Victorian extravagance cannot be matched by any other building in Leeds. It has to be seen to be believed!
Today Temple.Works.Leeds has reopened as a cultural venue reminiscent of Berlin’s Tacheles art centre. While structural repairs are underway to the 2 acre main Space, the rest of the site’s labyrinth of rooms are under artist occupation.
