Paddy Freeform, PBS, Amy Dabbs, Another Late One
Joining Vibes in this new phase of events we would like to welcome our 2 new residents, PBS and Amy Dabbs....
Amy Dabbs' love of music was almost inevitable, growing up surrounded by the sounds of her old man's LP collection of original motown and disco records that he used to spin himself at Northern Soul clubs. Her passion for electronic music was born and by her 18th birthday Amy Dabbs was in possession of her first set of turntables. From there, she moved up to Sheffield to study whilst relentlessly continuing to follow the electronic music scene, building up her vinyl collection and regularly playing out around the city. It was upon moving back to London 8 years ago that Amy Dabbs really cemented her passion for house music. Inspired by the tracks she would hear at nights such as Buzzin Fly at The End and Type at The Cross, she was constantly seeking to develop and evolve her own musical style formed of underground deep house sounds. To this day Amy still has an unquenchable thirst for electronic music, and has played at many well-known venues around London including Cargo, Egg, Brixton Clubhouse and The Brickhouse.
PBS is versatile DJ happy playing hip hop/funk/soul/disco as well as house and techno. He’s played across London at all the major clubs and bars, and been booked to DJ at private parties at the Cannes and Venice film festivals. When it comes to house he plays bass driven deep sounds, often with a disco edge, taking inspiration from the likes of old school house producers and techno legends.
Amy and PBS often play back to back, now under their new alias Another Late One, combining underground house with their trademark styles to create a unique sound guaranteed to get the dancefloor going. They host a bi-weekly radio show on www.feelingmandy.fm and have recently been booked as a duo at some of London's hottest venues including Cafe1001. With bookings in the pipeline already this coming year, including supporting artists such as Huxley, 2013 looks set to be a big year for them.
