Answer Code Request (live)
For the first Animal Farm of 2013 in the hallowed basement of Jamaica St we welcome two of Techno hottest acts :
ANSWER CODE REQUEST & MARKUS SUCKUT.
When Answer Code Request’s first EP suddenly hit the shelves of Berlin’s seminal record store Hard Wax in 2011, speculation across the web took up instantly. Was this another incarnation of affiliated Techno stalwarts, like Marcel Dettmann or Shed? A lot of people were very sure it had to be, even if further discussion seemed to agree that the music contained on this mysterious 12” would mean a bold redesign, as it was quite a different beast. Sure, there was the industrial punch, heavy groove and fierce determination associated with the Berghain sound and Ostgut Ton’s artists, but then again there were so many unfamiliar layers and signatures. It merged Berlin’s Techno heritage with Detroit melancholia, the heyday of UK’s “Artificial Intelligence” and the rhythmic innovations of the most current bass music, and ended up with a sound original and fresh. A musical concept that was so significantly different to what was already happening, that it was indicating the fact that this was not an established artist testing new grounds, but a new artist emerging to be that very new ground, and nothing less. We are happy to say that ACR will be performing a very special live set at The Sub Club
Markus Suckut's rise through the ranks of the Techno underground is nothing short of meteoric. In a few short years Markus has released original material on Lucy's 'Stroboscopic Artefacts' right through to Len Faki's 'Figure SPC' which will also release his debut album later this year. As a remixer, 2012 has seen a host of high profile tracks given his unique treatment with Edit Select, Pfirter, Alan Fitzpatrick & Developer to name a few being taken through Markus heavy yet dubbed out production style. 2012 also saw the release of his own SCKT imprint which has released 2 successful vinyls showing his grit and power as a producer. The first Remix EP featuring Animal Farm Records contributor BLEAK & one half of Skudge, SPLICE will see the light of day early this year. We have also been fortunate enough to secure his services for AFR which has seen him remix Stephen Brown's 'Tangent' which will appear on AFR002.
This will be nothing short of Techno at its very best.
