Jeremy Underground Paris, Brawther, Lee Daley, Dan Fraidso, Eddie Leader
This Good Friday, Content are proud to bring you the sound of one of Europe's coolest, most sought after imprints with two guests from Parisian club night and label du jour: My Love Is Underground – with owner Jeremy Underground Paris ably supported by stablemate Brawther.
Jeremy Underground Paris was brought up listening to the infamous Radio Nova, a station which introduced him to and educated him in the ways of deep house in the mid nineties. It ignited a passion in him which led to his teenage years being spent crate digging in record shops trying to unearth all the hidden gems of house music.
After building up a fine collection over almost 15 years, Jeremy decided to contribute something back to the world of house by setting up his own label – My Love Is Underground (or MLIU, for short). The limited pressing, vinyl only label is dedicated to immortalising the New York/New Jersey sound of the mid nineties, but given a modern day feel. The first releases caused that much of a stir in the house music world that now, only 3 years later, they regularly change hands for extortionate amounts of money.
Regarded as a fine selector with a strong musical identity, Jeremy now carries his heavy bag of records across the globe, spreading his love for underground music. The MLIU label parties are fast becoming the talk of any city that hosts them, with music lovers traveling from country to country to experience the MLIU vibe.
Joining Jeremy will be MLIU's deep house maestro – Brawther. Inspired by anything from ambient electronica from Warp records through to the house sounds of Larry Heard and Nottingham's DIY collective, Brawther put out his first EP in 2007 on 9TS Records under his Izmo guise - entitled “Where Is Eddie” it was a tribute to the legendary Smack Productions' Eddie Perez. It's modern take on the New Jersey sound meant it was only a matter of time before he was releasing for MLIU, but releases in the interim on Chez Damier's Balance and Secretsundaze show that he's equally adept at producing sounds inspired by the UK, France, Chicago and Detroit.
With an uncompromising attitude and the skills backed up in some of the hottest underground records of the past few years, Brawther’s natural ability in both the studio and behind the decks is already starting to bear fruit. The care and attention that goes into a Brawther set or production signals him as a unique talent, ready to bring it to the rest of the world.
