Motion is established as one of the leading underground House and Techno parties in Newcastle, bringing artists such as Art Department, Tale Of Us, Solomun & Damian Lazarus to the city. To celebrate our 3rd anniversary, we have put together a huge lineup.
Headlining is one of our favorite past guests- Lee Foss. Few DJs have recently made such an impact on underground house music. He is one of the most in-demand DJ/producers, co-owner along side Jamie Jones, of the groundbreaking label Hot Creations and member of Hot Natured. Hot Natured recently performed their first-ever gig, selling out one of London’s most prestigious venues, Brixton Academy two nights in a row. Lee’s star is set to rise even further as ‘Reverse Skydiving’ is about to drop and Hot Natured tour.
OFF Recordings boss Andre Crom had an amazing start to 2013: Number 1 in Beatport Deep house chart with ‘Hanging On. His label and himself both entered the most charted labels/artists of 2012 on Resident Advisor with # 8 for OFF Recordings and # 40 for Andre. Releases such as Darius Syrossian & Hecto Couto ‘Metal’, Robosonic ‘The Edge’, Leftwing & Kody ‘You Were’, have seen OFF explode in popularity.
Ben Pearce’s ‘What I Might Do’ has been arguably the biggest track of the last 12 months, reaching No.3 in the Beatport Chart and No.1 on the Deep House Chart and gaining support from the likes of Solomun, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones and Heidi.
Dauwd headlines the Rubix room. His innovation on releases for Pictures Music, have earned him support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Jamie XX, John Talabot, Mount Kimbie and Caribou, as well as Rinse FM and the Boiler Room. His DJ sets explore everything from garage to house to techno. Local favorite Joonipah and the Nocturnal Playground DJs will also feature in this room.
Motion resident Patrick Topping, who’s debut EP is about to drop on Hot Creations offshoot Hot Trax, will play in the Module room, along side fellow residents Ben Wood and Richie Steedman. Support comes from Kaulsa resident Kate Mcrea and Matty Robson & Jonny Burn b2b.
