Osborne ( Ghostly International )
w/ Evan Michael
// Judge Wise
Todd Osborn, also known as Soundmurderer ran the first Drum & Bass record store in the Detroit area, as the ex-owner of the legendary Dubplate Pressure shop. His obsession with drum and bass led to him setting up his own label, Rewind Records. There are lots of stories surrounding Mr. Osborn and for the most part they are all true including his Lego-sculpting, electron microscope-owning, Japanese-speaking and plane flying hobbies that put his joy of life and the art of making into his music productions. Todd has been championed across the board, by everyone from Gilles Peterson to Aphex Twin, from UR’s Mad Mike to Warp’s Flying Lotus. A performance from this man is a rarity, especially for New York so this June, Brooklyn Bass is more than excited to host him for 2013’s Northside Showcase at Cameo Gallery.
An up-and-coming blog on the NYC circuit, Brooklyn Bass is quickly making their rounds within the electronic scene. Hosting a monthly after-hours residency at Cameo Gallery, you can find DJs Judge Wise, T’Angelo and Evan Michael hosting the most current electronic artists such as Justin Miller, John Roberts, and Egyptrixx. All three of these young editors take their time to carefully curate their blog with the latest reviews of international dance tracks and nearby happenings. Be on the look out for their monthly podcasts and weekly event listings as well. In a live context, expect these dudes to hold no bars. T’Angelo and Judge Wise throw down techno and deep house, while Evan Michael stirs it up with house and disco classics.
