All T-Shirt designs to be revealed on the night, in the flesh. All DJ's revealed now!
(Melbourne / Strange Holiday Radio)
Recent addition to The Pool's army of bliss makers, where he is in fine company with the likes of DJ Harvey, Todd Terje and Young Marco. Here's some choice words on the fella.....
"Peel back the leaves and discover Andras Fox, a Melbourne producer making tactile and imperfect electronic music. Inspired by primitive percussion, simple melodies and home recording, Andras combines elements of house music and ethno-groove in a distinctly antipodean way.
Based around drum machine rhythms and new age synths, his original tape recordings are simultaneously contemporary in sound and difficult to carbon date, slipping comfortably between 80s Library Music, Chicago House and g-Funk.
Presenting the weekly radio show Strange Holiday on 3RRR FM in Melbourne has given him a chance to greatly expand his record collection, which currently occupies the broad territory between Disco, World, Library and Balearic sounds. This depth of knowledge about music’s past informs his productions, which all give a nod and a wink to the past."
This chap knows what Turbo Island is all about, he is also the inspiration behind one of the t-shirt designs (think Chicago's Muzik Box.) His record selection is fantastically chameleon-like so it's very fitting he is here for this evening of eclecticism.
The guys that brought Prosumer, Mark Seven, Hieroglyphic Being, World Unknown, Maurice Faulton and many many more into our cute little city for the most exhilarating of parties. It's these parties where a Turbo Island Tee should find itself, dripping in sweat, taken off, swung around the head, then found in a ball in the corner of the club at 6am.
The warm-up act, playing paranoid pop music.
Turbo Island is a new label set-up by Stokes Croft illustrator/artist Christopher Wright. Focused on creating colourful and cocky t-shirts for the music geeks amongst us.
T-shirts will be at a reduced rate on the night.
