On Saturday 18th October Lock N Load Events present the biggest Top 100 DJs Poll party to ever take place in the UK. Hosted at London’s iconic, 4500 capacity O2 Academy Brixton, the event will feature twelve of the world’s biggest DJs including a very special performance from the individual voted this year’s world #1. In 2013, Hardwell was crowned the No.1 DJ for the first time, toppling five-time No.1, Armin van Buuren. 2011’s winner was David Guetta. Other previous winners include Tiesto (three times), Paul van Dyk (twice), Paul Oakenfold (twice), Carl Cox (twice), Sasha and John Digweed.
In addition to the World’s #1 DJ, the night will feature one of the biggest lineups showcased in London this year.
As a true icon of the electronic world, Dash Berlin is no stranger to the DJ Mag Top 100 poll. Having comfortably secured a place in the treasured Top 10 for the past three years, there is no doubt that Dash is at the very top of his game. A standout favourite at The Gallery, Dash Berlin’s longstanding relationship with the Capital will be heightened even further as he plays the gigantic O2 Academy Brixton for the very first time. With his brand new album ‘We Are’ set for release next month, a breath-taking performance awaits from one of the industry’s most significant players as joins the biggest UK party in Top 100 history.
Voted last year at #27, Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen are two brothers from Eindhoven that have been making music for over a decade. In 2012 they exploded onto the global dance scene with the release of ‘Cannonball’, followed by ‘Booyah’ in 2013, a track that resulted in a top #5 spot in the UK singles chart and their first worldwide hit. Now in 2014 Showtek can be found amongst the dance music elite. They look forward to their O2 Academy Brixton debut with a colossal army of fans and an even big collection of peak time anthems…
In room 2 we can now announce Riva Starr, Flashmob and Copy Paste Soul.
There have been a few attempts at imitation, but DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs Poll has remained the definitive list. As well as its significance for individual DJs, the Top 100 DJs Poll also documents the growth - or decline - of dance music scenes, reflecting the ebb and flow of genres as new sounds and scenes take hold and spread. Last year’s Poll received votes from well over 750,000 people and from more than 200 countries, reinforcing its position as the biggest music poll in the world.
Voting is now open at http://djmag.com/top100djs/vote.
