Neana, Moleskin, Kid Antoine, Sudanim, Endgame, Lexxi, Iydes, Vegyn, Sam Elsewhere, Seb
Our residency at The Waiting Room is one year old! To celebrate, the seventh Tropical Waste party will be a special, one-off all nighter featuring back-to-back sets from DJs who feed directly into London’s rippling club music scene.
NEANA B2B MOLESKIN (GANG FATALE/GOON CLUB)
Part of the bustling Gang Fatale crew, Neana is known for putting a gritty UK spin on ballroom house. His hard ‘n fast style has earned him a 12” on the Night Slugs white label series as well as remix duties for Kelela, Brenmar and SPF666. His explosive sound goes perfectly with that of Moleskin, whose self-titled EP was one of our favourite records of 2014. The Goon Club co-founder draws inspiration from Baltimore club, grime and UK funky to create springloaded tracks so together, these two will detonate the dance.
KID ANTOINE B2B SUDANIM (HER RECORDS)
Kid Antoine arrives to make his UK debut down in the basement. The Danish artist scored an anthem with last year’s ‘Unexpected Encounter’ while his newly released ‘Proximity’ EP contains the most assured music that Her Records has released to date. He lines up alongside label co-boss Sudanim, who delights in making warped bangers and turning out highly-charged DJ sets. This is another pairing that’ll send sparks flying.
ENDGAME B2B LEXXI
Endgame holds down the excellent Precious Metals radio show on NTS and his debut EP, an icily seductive 7-tracker for Lisbon's Golden Mist, is out on April 27. Lexxi's SoundCloud uploads are equally excellent and contain jagged edges as well as glimmers of melody. Their respective DJ selections touch on dancehall, reggaeton, Kizomba, rap, kuduro and noise, among many other things, and are always unpredictable.
IYDES B2B VEGYN (GETME!/PLZ MAKE IT RUINS)
Vegyn runs the PLZ Make It Ruins label and the GÆZ clubnight, both dedicated to extra terrestrial dancefloor music. His new EP 'Janhui' is an excersise in rhythmic low-end pressure and features a collaboration with Tropical Waste resident and GetMe! affiliate Iydes. Stepping out of the studio, they'll DJ together for the first time.
SAM ELSEWHERE B2B SEB (LIMINAL SOUNDS/NTS)
Sam Elsewhere works tirelessly to unearth killer new music via his Liminal Sounds label, mix series and blog. His website is a lightning rod for producers contributing to the international club wave and he's been responsible for putting us on to Air Max '97, She's Drunk, Sharp Veins and others. He goes round for round with Tropical Waste resident Seb, who's been a fixture on NTS for the last 3 years.
