* ZIP bio:
Thomas Franzmann aka Zip aka Dimbiman, co-founder of the label Perlon, is familiar with the dancefloors around the world and famous for his tremendous minimal shifts within the 4/4 scheme. He has an illustrious musical history which began in 1986 as singer in the band Second Voice. In 1992 he moved to Frankfurt and joined the EBM band Bigod 20. After several releases the band split. In 1996 he got together with Markus Nikolai and Chris Rehberger to form the audio-visual project Pile. In 1997 he and Nikolai founded the Perlon label, on which he has released under the pseudonyms Dimbiman, Pantytec (with Sammy Dee) and Narcotic Syntax (with James Dean Brown). In 1999 the SuPERLONgevity compilation was released, featuring 'Bushes', a track that has since garnered chart-topping remixes from the likes of Derrick Carter and Fatboy Slim.
Franzmann also recorded with Peter "Baby" Ford and has appeared on Ford's label PAL SL. He is a regular guest DJ in clubs around the world and holds residencies at Robert Johnson (Offenbach) and the Panorama Bar (Berlin). He participates in the Narod Niki project, occasional collective laptop live jams initiated by Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. He has released tracks and remixes on Perlon, Playhouse, Force Inc, Novamute and others.
* ONUR OZER bio:
Ozer began his career in the late nineties when minimal and tech-house were making a resurgence in Istanbul.
In a city oppressed by both a stifling heat and a musical style equally as stagnant, Onur helped battle to change the old rules and break old habits, breathing fresh life into a dispirited club scene. Armed with his vinyl case, still dressed in his shabby student clothes, he entered the clubs to share his biggest passion, dancing without reason.
Onur continued to fight the cause and helped found a number of new, vanguard venues, bringing new sounds and styles to Turkey’s capital.
In 2002 he began to export this warm Istanbul sound to different cities in Germany. Since then he has kept the crowds dancing in such venues as Robert Johnson, Harry Klein, Studio 672 and Kerosin.
2004 witnessed a turning point in his career and he became the resident DJ of the highly-rated party series Sweet Sense, welcoming many international acts.
in 2005 he began to take his already well-honed musical talents into the studio, releasing his debut EP ‘Freakdisco’ on Freude-Am-Tanzen in August. Another ‘Envy EP’ on Vakant the following month. Germany’s Groove Magazine rated him as one of their up and comers of the year.
2006 will see his next EP release on Vakant ‘Twilight’ out mid-March.
In a relatively short time, the name Binh has become almost synonymous with the sounds of modern underground Berlin; but it was the training the Düsseldorf native received throughout the country that allowed him to hone tastes and skills before arriving in the capital to claim a stake in its bustling music scene.
The years leading up to 2007 were characterized by a series of breakthroughs and successful residencies throughout Essen and Düsseldorf, a path that naturally led to Berlin, where Binh was able to quickly stand out from among the masses thanks to an extremely particular taste in music and sets overflowing with deep house and techno of the most refined variety, defined by subtlety and sprinkled with the delightfully unexpected. He began his residency at the iconic Club der Visionaere in 2007 and has been winning over crowds ever since at his bi-monthly event, Noon, alongside many a well-known artist of his choosing.
2013 represented a pivotal moment in Binh's career thanks to his first release on Paris' Concrete Music, by way of a track many critics labelled as a high point on the various artists LP it was featured on. The praise has continued on into 2014 with his brand new Downtown EP on Cabaret Recordings and an upcoming release on his own project, Treatment, a joint effort with Onur Özer. The end of summer will also see another release of Binh's by way of new label Time Passages, for which he'll be dropping their first ever EP of the same name.
