Welcome to the official party page of PETE’S 50TH, Dalston’s finest musical party for creative fuck up’s. What started off as a joke birthday party in VISIONS VIDEO BAR for a set of mates is now running as a monthly affair due to it’s lo fi poster campaign, which was recognised in TIME OUT, probably by someone using the overground every day we suspect! Well, they called us “Cheap, Cheeful and Chic” and if they say it, it must be right, right? Well, you can make your own mind up. We like getting really mashed to the music we LOVE, we like the fact our party costs a fiver, and we like things like horns, sunglasses and stinky shirts from charity shops. We are PETE, and we are FIVE-O.
Following an absolute bonanza of a night with JAMES PRIESTLEY, Pete is very excited to invite you along for the next instalment of his birthday celebrations. Providing the soundtrack for this evening on 3rd APRIL is none other than Hackney’s very own Italo Disco Don SERGE SANTIAGO. Serge is the main man behind ARCOBALENO records, a very unique, limited and colourful label that has been responsible for re-edits of classic Italo/Disco tracks including ‘Kano - It’s a War’, ‘Grace Jones - Slave to The Rhythm’ & Pete’s favourite ‘Gino Soccio – The Visitor’
Originally a Brighton boy Mr Santiago became a resident for STOMPA PHUNK where some of his earlier productions were first showcased back in 1999. A whirlwind music producing career developed from these days, in 2003 he hooked up with Matt Edwards and formed RADIO SLAVE. The duo fast became sought after re-touchers, responsible for re-working Fischerspooner, X-Press2, FC Kahuna, Benny Bennassi, Tiga, White Stripes, Britney, Justin Timberlake, Kylie, Bob Sinclar, and the list goes on. Santiago, after over 15 edits under the Radio Slave moniker, split late 2005 and started his coloured edit series.
In more recent years Serge has been a resident for We Love Sundays at Space in Ibiza, as well as mixing their first ever compilation CD, alongside Riton. Since this residency in 2007, SERGE SANTIAGO has been more in-demand than ever playing throughout London, Europe, America & Australia.
Playing alongside Serge will be the Dalston Disco House Dodgepots RYAN HOPE (Immigrant Records) & PAUL BARDSLEY (Disclosure Project / S-Sens)................. In short for the light readers, it’s a PARTY, it’s at VISIONS in DALSTON, it’s MR SERGE SANTIAGO, it’s only £5 in…. it’s going to be a bit good!
