Scott Grant & Nerram
Happy Birthday to us! It's been another great year of parties with amazing artists and party people - and so we've arranged a proper musical journey for us all to celebrate this next milestone together. Falling in line with last year's birthday concept, we've invited some huge talents along for the ride as well as a true legend from the world of dance music. Three debut's and two locations. Go on then...
One of the most well respected DJs and producers in all of dance music will travel up to perform his Liverpool debut at our birthday in March. We're hugely excited and privileged to welcome him to the family!
Baby Ford is largely credited with founding the way for the UK acid house scene in the early 90's with a stong, pioneering influence reaching out to his colleagues and peers that hasn't showed signs of letting up since. Being an accomplished producer that's worked under a range of aliases - from early releases with Rhythm King to full length albums including the legendary 'Fordtrax'; Baby Ford's prolific back-catalogue is a thing to behold. He has jointly managed two of the UKs most well-respected techno labels in Trelik and Ifach as well as famously producing and performing alongside Thomas Melchior as Soul Capsule. 'Lady Science (NYC Sunrise)' is possibly their most well-known collaboration - a real masterpiece of production with a longevity that keeps it relevant to record bags and indeed dance floors around the world to this day. One of our favourite all-time tracks might we add.
Expect everything from housey gems, acid-tinged hooks and driving minimal-techno from Baby Ford. Something different, something brilliant expected from his performance won't be far off the mark.
Having been producing for a number of years and working with Dubtil as one half of NoiDoi - Barac started to focus on solo material and has since blown up, being one of the most exciting exports of Romania's techno scene in recent years with a penchant for circulating ridiculously good, unreleased tracks around his circle of colleagues.
A strong, rhythmic sound that rides over undulating basslines can be a signature calling card for Barac's productions and DJ sets. We've often been left in awe of his work, with talents even stretching to an exclusively self-crafted, acclaimed live set. From fabric to Sunwaves - ReSolute to Art of Dark he's featured regularly across some of the best parties around.
Being our first Romanian friend to visit since hosting Rhadoo back in April 2014 we cannot wait to hear him do this thing behind the decks, on his Liverpool debut. For those that don't know about Barac yet - this is not to be missed.
Resident for Half Baked and prolific selector Greg Brockmann has been performing around Europe for almost 10 years now - and has recently began releasing on Popcorn Records, Cosmo Rec and soon to come on Half Baked.
His close partnership with Robin Ordell is a well-loved, regular feature of the London party's programming - as well as dates around the world as part of tours and numerous festival appearances from ADE to WeAreFstvl. Greg's a very versatile, experienced DJ. He plays a range of sounds depending on the time, place and lineup - but techno-tinged, deep, housey tracks are to be expected on the birthday. Another debut for Liverpool in a hat-trick of new faces at this party.
Scott Grant & Nerram + Brennan:
Supporting the visitors will be original residents and solid, home-grown talents - Scott and Nerram. They've grown massively, alongside this party and it's exciting to see just what they may be capable of achieving in the future. Also joinging is Brennan with one of his signature warmups you've all loved this year. Please arrive early on the night to support. They have some great gigs coming up in the first half of 2016 - more info on that in a few weeks.
Thank-you to not just these two - but all of our close crew who support at every possible moment. Danny Fleming and Sam Power will be featuring on upcoming parties.
Part1 - Buyers Club
Part 2 - The Magnet
We'll tell you all about this shortly - however two brilliant spaces across the road from one another. Definitely going to be the makings for a memorable night and a great occasion for visitors travelling to Liverpool to stick around with us until mid-morning. It'll be a late one...
