One of the traits that unites this edition's guests is their longstanding experience in the music business and their ongoing dedication to playing big sound in small rooms.
Jens Mahlstedt is a DJ, music producer and composer who actually kicked off his music career with a residency in Kreuzberg club "Beehive" back in 1986 and has been all across the map with highly acclaimed techno releases on labels like Superstition and Opera House back in the 90ies. Today he continues to spread his love for all kinds of music, scoring films, working for theater productions and teaching at universities. From Berlin via London and Jamaica he has now settled close to the city of Bremen only to come out of hiding to play a very special set for us at TOFU.
Supporting him will be half of the infamous French duo Acid Washed, Andrew Claristidge. Andrew is also a multi-faceted artist who has scored music for designers, choreographers, visual artists and big brands like Adidas and Bugatti. Andrew has been on remixing duties for hot shots like Jimmy Somerville or Miss Kittin and been invited to play his sounds at the most relevant venues across the world. Lastly, he has recently dropped a fresh album that has solidified his ongoing presence in today's music landscape.
So let us enjoy a slice of well-aged TOFU tonight and listen to the sounds of two DJs that have spanned three decades of music history.
