We're proud to present one of the most extraordinary DJs in the Odyssey rolodex. If you weren't there when Mystic Bill overpacked our afterhours space and delivered an incredible and timeless set, here are some notes:
- M Y S T I C B I L L -
DEFECTED / STRICTLY RHYTHM / SNUFF TRAX
A true preacher of the original Chicago/Detroit House/Techno sound, Bill's introduction to the dance music scene began during his teen years while growing up in Miami. Armed with a fake id, he would frequent a lot of the local clubs & gallery events, building an extensive record collection and eventually playing at clubs like Club Nu and the A House before he was even of age. It wasn't until Bill landed a job at Flamingo Record Pool which was run by Bill Kelly (WMC fame) & Richard McVay, that he discovered house music. Bill remembers when promos from Chicago started arriving with house and acid mixes on them.
He felt so in tune with what was happening in Chicago that he needed to be there. After frequent visits, he made the move and shortly after was spinning at clubs, lofts, and warehouse parties around the city. His first residency was in the Boiler Room at the Shelter w/ Johnny Fiasco. He later played at places like The Vault with Derrick Carter & Mark Farina, as well as Normandy's with Ralphie Rosario. Since then, he has held several residencies and played at select destinations around the world.
His music production began with a remix of Kay Ladrae's Lack Of Love with Vince Lawrence & Karr Krash on Demand Records. More of his earlier production work can be found on labels such as Trax Records, Relief, Club House, and Swing Street. Bill is now back if full swing, with releases on Classic, Rong, and Snuff Traxx, as well as a re release of his classic “Take Me Back” including a Villalobos remix.
Bill has recently headlined Honey Soundsystem, Queen! Smart Bar Chicago, Horse Meat Disco NYC, Bordello A Parigi (Rotterdam). He has headlined recently with Derrick Carter, Mike Dunn, Gene Hunt, Heather Heart, Jake Reif. Europe is finally taking notice of Bill's exceptional talent, landing him at Panorama Bar in February 2016.

Elaine Denham B2B Robin Simmons
Odyssey's founders & resident DJs, delivering back to back dancefloor satisfaction.
When they met, Elaine Denham was a dance-focused radio DJ at UC Santa Cruz, and Robin Simmons was a nightclub DJ and DIY promoter. With some help from friends, they launched Odyssey - a queer afterhours dance space in the heart of San Francisco, with non-stop psychedelic visuals, professional grade club sound, and a wall sized chalkboard in the back room.
Today, Elaine and Robin bring the sound and vibe that made their space special to a variety of new venues, whether they are throwing parties at Public Works, or DJing back-to-back for amazing promoters and events such as Juanita More, Daytime Realness, Club Some Thing, SF Eagle.

- Donovan's LightsOut Lightshow -
Donovan Drummond is one of the longest running and most cherished lightshow artists in the history of dance music (and especially extra-legal dance music events), doing the visuals for legendary parties such as Wicked, The Gathering, and tons more, including nightclubs like Townsend, and more recently Monarch and Public Works.
He's a creative force of nature, and a master of color, light and mood. He has been my in-house lightshow wizard for dozens of parties, and I couldn't be luckier to have him.
