Acronym [Extended DJ set]
Acronym first surfaced in late 2012 on his own imprint, Dimensional Exploration, putting out mind-bending music and working in the sphere of similar peers like Abdulla Rashim. A few months later he published a 12? on Rashim’s newly found label and platform, Northern Electronics. He has now shown himself to be a prolific producer of deep, percussive techno by continuously releasing EP's and remixes.
From somewhere deep in a mess of modular synth patch cables, Patricia emerges to share one of the best live hardware sets around today. He’s been making big waves with releases on L.I.E.S., Opal Tapes, and Spectral Sounds. An artiste at Brooklyn’s Control modular shop, Patricia lives and breathes signals, control voltages, and logic conditions, a fact that comes across in his celebrated live set.
North Carolina-raised, Brooklyn-based artist Lara Wehbie, aka Blursome, first started making music in 2011 as a way of channeling her diagnosed depression and anxiety. Having appeared on Scuba’s 2016 fabric mix, she now debuts on his Hotflush Recordings imprint with an entrancing six-track experimental EP, Rendition of You. She describes her work as a transitional darkness, something she says defined her sound even before she could manage the software she uses to make it. In her own words, “Rendition of You EP signifies major transitions in my life over the past year and how my environment truly played a role in handling situations. It's a testament to how much happier I am now than I used to be. I still struggle but I'm truly thankful for the influences I have around me that have made me a better individual and artist.” Along the way she also attended the Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp in 2015.
Brooklyn-via-Kansas producer Beta Librae has quickly become a Brooklyn favorite with her dynamic sets, both live & DJ, that include everything from ambient to dub; and from house to techno. A multi-genre artist and co-creator of the popular monthly at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Technofeminism, she also has well received releases on labels 1080p & Lillerne Tapes.
Born in Moscow and currently based in Brooklyn, New York, Mary Yuzovskaya is a unique phenomenon in the scene. A ballerina with a classical background and a degree in piano performance, Mary has become a versatile electronic music DJ over a decade ago. She graced the decks of all hotspots in the Russian club scene and moved to Berlin in 2009 where she eventually established her identity as an electronic music artist. In 2013, Mary traveled to New York, where she first got familiar with the US scene by working at distribution wing of notorious record store Halcyon the shop. She lives in New York until now, inspired by the city’s endless energy and music-friendly environment, which she embraces holding two major residencies: Aphotic and Unter, the most exciting underground techno parties in Brooklyn, both showcasing the best in local and international talent. While Aphotic is focusing on a deeper side of techno, Unter is bringing a harder musical approach to the listeners attention. She has been traveling the world performing at such spots as Tresor in Berlin, Arma 17 in Moscow and Output in Brooklyn to name a few, playing a variety of genres, from atmospheric and dub to energetic techno bombs. She is a natural-born DJ, mixing vinyl with style, grace and lightness.
Jad Atoui & Pilgrim
Jad Atoui, a Lebanese music composer and electronic sounds experimentalist, will be playing with one of Metamorph’s founders Pilgrim. The two together will combine live hardware, cassette tapes, and vinyl to perform an opening ambient set to kick the night off.
