We are very excited to announce a very special collaboration event for this year’s Flux Christmas Party. After thirty years of throwing parties, you can still find the pioneers of the Glasgows music scene playing to the best people the city can muster on the finest sound system you will hear in Scotland, or pretty much anywhere in the world for that matter. Regularly voted amongst the best clubs in the world and revered by regulars, visitors, DJs and musicians the world over, it has maintained a reputation that promises no prejudice and no limits when it comes to enjoying great music. We are thrilled to welcome Harri & Domenic and Sub Club to Leeds to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Joining them in the main room will be crowd favourite Honey Dijon, over from USA. In the basement, expect a mixing masterclass from Objekt and the ascendant Peggy Gou. See you at the front!

Despite releasing only a small handful of records since his eponymous white-label debut in 2011, Objekt has quickly become one of the most consistently lauded producers of recent years. The Berlin-based artist has garnered an enviable reputation for attention to detail, evocative arrangements and inventive, effervescent sound design, coaxing sonic features from the most unlikely of places. His singles, from the Objekt #1-#3 white label series (2011-2013) to Hypnagogia (his 2014 split 12” with electro legends Dopplereffekt) and 2012’s Cactus/Porcupine on Hessle Audio, pointedly flout techno conventions while maintaining an unfaltering club focus. His output draws as much from Autechre, golden-era Warp and brittle, frenetic electro as it does from classic and contemporary house and techno, early dubstep, noise and experimental electronics. Flatland, his debut album, was released on PAN in 2014 and pushed further into sonic and structural experimentation than his club records were able to, without losing the musicality and physicality that made his singles so compelling. The quality control of his output has been reflected in its critical reception, Flatland for example featuring widely in the 2014 end-of-year album lists, and Ganzfeld (from Hypnagogia) scoring an unlikely #1 in Resident Advisor’s top tracks of 2014. In parallel, Objekt has built up a reputation as not only a technically skilled but also regularly surprising and well-informed DJ. His sets, while broadly focused on techno, frequently duck and dive between the hypnotic and engrossing, incorporating off-kilter broken beats, breakneck electro, acid, noise, house, EBM and anything else necessary to illustrate his version of events, sometimes taking large jumps in tempo and drawing fully from the last 30 years of recorded electronic music. Nowhere is this better exemplified than in Kern Vol. 3, his highly acclaimed mix CD for Berlin techno institution Tresor, released in 2016 and described in a 4.5-star RA review as “a window into the very essence of DJing”.
What more can be said about the fabulous Honey Dijon. She has rightly taken her place in the music world as one of the most exciting and unique talents today with her innovative and unique sound. She also boasts some impressive accolades from some of the biggest names in dance music from Danny Tenaglia to Derrick Carter. Based in NYC, born and bred in the Windy City, Honey is known for her unique take on the Chicago sound with inflections of the deep New York underground. In fact, Honey is one of the few dj’s in recent years to defy pigeon-holing. She draws from a wide repertoire of musical styles from old school Chicago House, disco, tech house, tribal, funk, soul, and R& B. She has graced the tables from Ministry of Sound London to Ushuaia Ibiza, Panorama Bar Berlin, Stereo Montreal and everywhere in between. She has also shared the decks with none other Danny Tenaglia, Derrick Carter, Green Velvet, The Martinez Brothers, Satoshi Tomiie, and Quentin Harris. Honey is also entering one of the most prolific times in her career not only as a DJ , but as a producer as well. Collaborating with such legendary vocalists Dajae and Celeda, Honey can count Toolroom Records, Nervous, Mile End, Stereo Productions, Deeperfect, Classic Recordings as a few of the labels she has released tracks on. She also runs her own label Digital Disco which has seen artists DJ Sneak, Jeremy Joshua, Derrick Carter, Luke Solomon and Orangemuse all contribute to it’s growing success. Honey has also remixed, along with her studio partner Sebastian Manuel, pop acts Cyndi Lauper, Casey Spooner, R.E.M, and Jessica 6 spreading her infectious sound to garner even more fans around the world.
Peggy Gou is a Berlin based Korean artist. Through a regular stream of high quality mixes she has begun to turn heads in underground circles. Sitting somewhere between Detroit, London and Berlin in sound, her DJ sets are a assured, kinetic combination of dark, pulsing house and techno, broken beats and abstract compositions. Regular studio sessions have been fertile and her first release, a double EP ‘September War’ appeared on Matt Radio Slave Edwards dominant Rekids imprint in early 2016. Peggy also has several highly conceptual tracks lined up for a host of other labels. Peggy is a highly unique and singular artist and has gained widespread plaudits in her relatively short career as a DJ thus far.
After cutting his DJ teeth in the Sub Club and elsewhere around Glasgow during the 80’s, Harri teamed up with the youthful Slam duo Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle in 1990 to for the infamous Sub Club weekly Saturday, “Atlantis” where they collectively carved out their own wee piece of clubbing notoriety over the following four years. The departure of Slam from the club in 1994 saw Harri join forces with one of Glasgow’s most talented young DJs, Domenic Cappello. Together they created Subculture, the Sub’s flagship weekly Saturday night. Just shy of 20 years on, Subculture, with Harri and Domenic still at the helm, is the longest running weekly House night in the U.K. and very possibly worldwide. Subculture has hosted the cream of international House DJs and has a reputation as one of the best and most credible House nights in the world.Subculture has thrived where so many house clubs have flagged because the night has always embraced and sought out the most innovative and culturally relevant electronic music - regardless of fickle fashions or commercial pressures.
