Six years in Hong Kong playing host for touring promoters such as Cream and Northern Exposure brought the Burridge name out from the shadows. Now Lee is up there with the heavyweights, due to his slick sets consisting of Deep House and Break beat bliss, which have earned him residencies, most notably at Tyrant @ Fabric where he teams up with DJ partner in crime, Craig Richards.

The combination Lee and Craig produce must be experienced to be believed, and is demonstrated in the Tyrant double CD that was released on Distinctive. Lee has also released a NuBreed mix on the Global Underground Label, which again is nothing short of brilliant.

Lee currently part owns the Fire label with DJ friend Cass, in which top quality records continue to be released. In the production side of things, Lee has recently put the finishing touches to two pieces of vinyl, “Lost” and “Found”, which is soon to be released on Fire.

Lee has taken the time to answer a few of RA’s demanding Questions. God help us!!

RA: Where in the world is your most favourite place to play?

Lee: Two places at the moment, Pacha in Buenos Aires which has the most amazing club, people and passion for dancing and getting fucked up that I have ever had the pleasure of DJ’ing for and Fabric in London which has an amazing attitude towards music at the moment. The music comes first, who is playing it...not many people care.

RA: Do Australian crowds differ vastly from those in the UK/USA?

Lee: After playing in Australia a few times I must admit I’m no expert but feel Australia as with England can have a real mixture of good and bad nights. I always have said the resident DJs in clubs all over the world are much better than any guests that ever visit and play, due to knowing exactly which music will rock the dance floor from week to week. There are always exceptions of course. A few of the biggest name DJs always seem to give people a great night out even before they've played a single record as People like Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Cox etc. have such a huge reputation in place already that people go crazy over the fact that they are going to be DJ’ing that evening.

RA: FIRE is turning out some fantastic tunes, how did the label come about?

Lee: Cass and myself were in prison together when we met Pete (Slide) who at the time was a prison Warden. We wanted to go straight and Pete helped us. Thus Fire was born.

RA: What where the major influences for your latest project Nubreed: 005?

Lee: My record box of the time and how I play when I
DJ in a club. That is all really.

RA: What other DJ's on the circuit do you respect, and why?

Lee: I hardly ever get to see other DJs play as I’m always DJ’ing but anyone who plays music that they love, and not in it as in a lot of cases, because they want to be 'famous' or earn loads of cash.

RA: Who would you like to remix now that you are producing?

Lee: I haven't remixed anybody but would love to remix the village people...isn't it about time the YMCA was once again a cool club dance...come on Y.M.C.A.

RA: What do you like to get up to when not spending time around music?

Lee: Cooking, Movies in the cinema, horse riding (one of those is a lie).

RA: If you ever needed to raise a smile during another photo shoot would
the thought of Judge Jules being hit by a bottle help again?

Lee: If I can hit him this time, oops sorry I’m mean no, of course not, that was very
irresponsible

RA: In the future do you see yourself spending more time in the studio working on certain projects or touring the globe DJ'ing?

Lee: Both I’m hoping. With the advent of G4 laptops, I’d love to think I could write music whenever, wherever
