The Pacemaker device
Pacemaker is a revolutionizing portable DJ system that lets you mix, play and perform anywhere, anytime.
What was once thought to be exclusively available to DJs and professional producers is now readily available to everyone. Instead of simply listening to your music you can now completely interact with it, and the possibilities are only limited by your own imagination. Pacemaker features all the functionality of a professional DJ set-up – and, all mixes are saved to the hard drive allowing you to easily upload your mixes to the Internet via Pacemaker Editor. Pacemaker is the first product in the world that truly brings DJing to the masses and right into the hands of the next DJ generation!
The Pacemaker Editor
Pacemaker Editor enables limitless creative possibilities via an intuitive interface tailor-made for desktop mix production. We’re really happy with the interface, where we’ve aimed for a truly physical experience emulating that of the hand-held Pacemaker. This is all drag-and-drop, pull, stretch, bend and move around. In essence, it’s about adding your personal preferred colouring to a selection of tracks (sort of, conducting your own orchestra with a couple of spray cans in each hand).
All mixes created on any of the two are transferable to the other, and vice versa – meaning that you can bring any mix anywhere, and continue mixing, adjusting and refining as you like. The final step is then to upload your mix to the Pacemaker.net web community, and let the rest of the world be inspired by your mixes and your taste in music – and, of course, find inspiration yourself.
The creative tools for the Editor are fully compatible with those of Pacemaker Device.
• Beat detection and pitch/BPM trimming
• Crossfade – cross fade transition and beat match
• Loop – duration and number of repetitions
• Audio effects and filters – Hi-cut/Lo-cut, Roll, Echo, Reverb
• EQ – 3-band; Hi, Mid, Lo: - infinity to + 9 dB
• Reverse play
• Gain and master volume
One of our interface innovations is that of controlling the two channels via the same window, simply by grabbing, sliding and overlapping the tracks. The approach is simply to view the mix as a linear sequence, to which you add whatever colours (tools, parameters, truncations and layerings) you like. All colouring tools are of course applicable to all tracks anywhere, and are open for adjustments and trimmings at will.
Pacemaker.net music community is a world’s first and a breakthrough for the music loving people throughout this planet. For the first time in history we can legally use our own music libraries to create mix streams, and fill our own personalized radio channels with all the best music for anyone to listen to. We can now create our own mixes, post them on our individual pages and have other DJs, friends and fans listen and share our mixes across the Internet. By sharing our music taste with each other, we hope to bring us all closer to the music we love and closer to the music we don’t yet know we can’t live without!
