  • Kevin Griffiths has put his money where his mouth is, inaugurating a new label solely devoted to celebrating the vinyl format. The owner of Tsuba Records is set to drop the first bow of Tsuba Colours in early March. Even with a line-up of artists that includes Peace Division, David K and Steve Lawler, it only seems fitting that Griffiths himself is the one to do the honors on the first release. His slab of black crack is matched up with a Sascha Dive remix on the B-side. Housed in shrink-wrap and "featuring coloured sleeves and artwork," it should be a nice collectible, but in an increasingly tough music market, it seems like a new label flies in the face of prevailing trends. Griffith doesn't seem to mind, though: "Poor old vinyl keeps getting it in the neck so I wanted to do something to celebrate the format. The deluxe packaging and shrink-wrap reminded me how special a 12" can be; a feeling you don't tend to get with downloads. The music will be a bit deeper, so I'm delighted to kick start the series with my new single along with Sascha Dive. Moodymanc has delivered the next release which is a bit special, too."
