The DJ History crew are holding a late night screening of films documenting the lives of Mel Cheren and Larry Levan tomorrow night.
Held at Soho's Curzon Cinema branch, the event will be a rare chance to see both The Godfather of Disco (which documents the life and times of West End Records owner Mel Cheren) and Pioneers: Larry Levan on the big screen. The films aren't the only entertainment on offer, however, as the night will see DJ sets from original Studio 54 DJ Kenny Carpenter as well as all three members of London's Disco Bloodbath crew.
Whilst all this is going on, the bar will be dedicated to showing the oddities of disco-flavoured cinematography, including sci-fi musical The Apple, S&M murder mystery Cruising, and Disco Godfather, which in Brewster's own words is "the black Saturday Night Fever, with added kung fu." Tickets are still available to purchase from the Curzon Cinemas website.
