  • Crosstown Rebels will release Jamie Jones' debut artist album later this year. The album drops just at the right time for the English producer, as he's just scored one of the biggest hits of this year's Winter Music Conference in Miami with his "Summertime" track, which features vocals from Norwegian duo Ost & Kjex. If you missed the boat on that one, then don't worry, as Jones has seen fit to include the track as part of the album, which will go under the title of Don't You Remember the Future. Apart from "Summertime" and forthcoming single "Galactic Space Bar" (which features a vocal from electro pioneer The Egyptian Lover), the rest of the album is made up of ten previously unreleased tracks, which will be either mixed or unmixed depending on what format you plump for. The CD will mesh Jones' slick tech-house into a singular uptempo journey, whilst vinyl and digital buyers will have the tracks separated for DJing ease. For Jones, the idea of futurism in music is central to his work, with the producer explaining that "the concept of the album is the idea that this is the year 2116, when music has become some kind of controlled means of manipulating humans, and the rebellion consists of artists like myself who are hiding underground creating sounds that explore outside that control." Don't You Remember The Future doesn't just consist of techy dance floor bangers, however, as Jones has experimented with cosmic sounds ("Mars" and "Deep In The Ghetto") and even ends the album on an emotional and reflective tip with "Mexico."
